Browse Forums Building A New House Re: First Build - home group wa - 14m width 2Mar 10, 2015 10:32 am There was a great thread on here about HGWA, I due to the negative nature of the build the thread was deleted... a real shame! It gave great insite into HGWA. There are still many other threads on here with people building with them... try reading them all, it will give you plenty of information so you can make a knowledgable decision. Would like some feedback from people who have built with them or have similarities in design Re: First Build - home group wa - 14m width 4Mar 10, 2015 10:38 am You can see reviews on their facebook page and also productreview.com I think there's more complaints about them on here than they should be getting. Looks to me like they should lift their game. Re: First Build - home group wa - 14m width 5Mar 10, 2015 1:40 pm My partner and I are currently building with HGWA and it has been a bit of a rocky road for us. 9 months in construction stage and we are yet to receive a PCI date... Some aspects have been okay but all the crap stuff has left a bad taste in our mouths. At this stage we wouldn't recommend them to anyone but the house is yet to actually be completed so we can't fully judge the quality of the home as a whole. Our first Site Supervisor made a mess of our build, thankfully he no longer works with HGWA. In saying that, some people will swear black and blue that they are a great company amd it seems the south west office has a very good rep. Every builder has horror stories though. I can only see one design (Home design 1) and I love it Re: First Build - home group wa - 14m width 10Mar 14, 2015 9:32 am I think I still like 1 better. They're both great designs though Re: First Build - home group wa - 14m width 11Mar 14, 2015 2:16 pm I have built with HGWA just moved in a few weeks ago but I am in the south west so a completely different office etc used. The house is fantastic quality and I would recommend them in a heartbeat....not too sure about the Perth branch though they do hammered on here but just remember that is only a small percentage of builds and every single builder has bad reviews. Re: First Build - home group wa - 14m width 12Mar 15, 2015 2:53 pm Lauraphil, What is the orientation of your block? If you want a house that is light & bright, cool in summer & warm in winter, you really want to choose a plan with the living areas facing north. A large proportion of your glazing should face north, while eliminating or at least reducing western glazing will help keep the house cool in summer. Your nice wide frontage will make it easier to find a plan that will work, & minimise overshadowing issues from neighbours. The government's website on efficient house design offers lots of advice, http://yourhome.gov.au/passive-design/orientation Thanks again for this information. If you do hear anything different, would be great to know 4 8256 Any structural alteration to your home requires building permit. Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27728 |
