I'm also building The One 17 with Dales in Baldivis, and I'm having my pre start in 2 weeks. My plan is pretty much the same as yours with the U kitchen and modified ensuite. I'm thinking of replacing all the carpets with timber laminate. Did you go through Dales or do you plan to do it yourself after handover? What is the cost through Dales? We went through Touch of Class Flooring and got Spotted Gum Engineered Timber Floorboards, as opposed to Dales Timber Laminate. Overall it's costing us $9000 including skirting to ALL rooms (with timber to kitchen, entry, living, dining, study) The dales timber laminate is different quality and I believe nearly half the price. If you were looking at timber I would definitely suggest seeing Kevin at Touch of Class Flooring. Burns Beach Build with Dale Alcock - We have Walls!!! 64Jul 05, 2015 12:26 am Thanks for your reply. So to clarify, you have replaced all tiling (except wet areas) and carpets in the house with engineered floor boards and it's costing only $9000 (including installation). That's a great deal!! No we have left carpet in bedrooms, games and theatre. $9000 is for timber to the remaining rooms, and skirting to all rooms (including carpeted areas) Re: Burns Beach Build with Dale Alcock - We have Walls!!! 68Jul 05, 2015 12:45 am kapes0120 I went on their website. Would that be the value package @$75 per sq m? No I think ours were $130 per square metre but we negotiated a better price. Total area was 71.20 square metres. Skirting was around $1600 so got it around $105 per square metre. Our product was called "NSW Spotted Gum 1 Strip Emberton G5" Re: Burns Beach Build with Dale Alcock - We have Walls!!! 70Jul 05, 2015 2:11 am Wow! Walls already - you are flying!! Re: Burns Beach Build with Dale Alcock - We have Walls!!! 71Jul 13, 2015 10:47 pm Hi, I've got my Prestart this week. I'm also doing "The One 17". I thought the fridge recess was 1 m. Did you increase the fridge recess to 1.2 m? Did it cost anything to make the change? Re: Burns Beach Build with Dale Alcock - We have Walls!!! 72Jul 13, 2015 10:58 pm Great news about the walls, looks like they are doing a great job Re: Burns Beach Build with Dale Alcock - We have Walls!!! 73Jul 13, 2015 11:03 pm kapes0120 Hi, I've got my Prestart this week. Fridge recess is 900mm standard - we increased to 1200 then realised that was massive and went down to 1000mm - plenty of room for a double door Re: Burns Beach Build with Dale Alcock - We have Walls!!! 75Jul 13, 2015 11:08 pm Love your house plans! Fridge recess is 900mm standard - we increased to 1200 then realised that was massive and went down to 1000mm - plenty of room for a double door Ours was a ridiculous 1400mm to begin with, designed for separate but side by side fridge and freezer. As we have a second smaller fridge in the garage we reduced it to 1050mm still big enough for our current 900mm wide fridge/freezer and with room to spare if we upgrade to a french door in the future. I don't imagine there'd be too much cost involved, if anything you are reducing laminate cupboards and bench top to accommodate? Congrats on the build! We are close neighbours! We are going to be building on Lot 754! Were speaking with Dale and HGWA but I think we will probably sign with HGWA. The slab and brickwork has gone up quite quickly! Re: Burns Beach Build with Dale Alcock - We have Walls!!! 78Aug 24, 2015 9:46 pm Mon445 HI Herbie! Congrats on the build! We are close neighbours! Hi Mon, I saw your block today - great location - who did you go with for the build? There is a Home Group WA slab about to go down 2 doors up from you! Our home is progressing slowly at the moment - very slow brickie who has no people working for him so is working solo - extremely frustrating to see other homes fly up around us when our brick work has taken 8+ weeks now ! Re: Burns Beach Build with Dale Alcock - We have Walls!!! 79Aug 24, 2015 9:55 pm Hi Herbie! Yes there is a home group going up next to us! We are still waiting to sign off on our final plan- the rep is on holidays for a week. Hoping for a slab by November! I'm getting so impatient! They keep forgetting to change 1-2 things on the plan each time if comes back! So frustrating!!!! I've noticed yours has slowed down a bit- but I think it's slowed down in the whole suburb at the moment. Can't wait til the whole street is built up! Mon Re: Burns Beach Build with Dale Alcock - We have Walls!!! 80Oct 31, 2015 5:17 pm So, sorry for the whole 2 months of no updates and all...we have been flat out and forgot to keep this up to date! We are now in lock up, and have kitchen cupboards and internal doors installed - handover is on track for early January - only 10 months after signing PWC and starting the journey! We are currently dealing with a pesky homeless guy who hangs around our house like a bad smell and uses our power/water. He flipped my partner off today as she drove past (he is a big guy and was sat on our retaining wallso she didn't want to get out) Also have an infestation of thousands (literally in the 2-3 thousand mark) of European/Portuguese millipedes. Any help in ridding the house of these would be awesome!! Thanks Chris Render your bathroom walls, two opinions versus the one, makes you wonder. 3 4203 The spacing of the studs looks pretty large especially for a load bearing wall. 3 8210 Nope, only on the inside, I've literally has my ears to the brick outside and can't hear anything. I can sort of 'reset' the noise by pressing firmly on the studs. This… 10 5031 |
