Re: Plantation Homes QLD - Soho 4 - Cabinets! 62Aug 21, 2015 3:29 pm tj9630 What timber is your staircase? Hi Tj, I'm not too sure what type of timber our staircase is... it says on the colour selection 'durian timber,' which will just be stained with a clear glaze. And I'm not sure why you can't see the photos? They still seem to be there and others can see them? In other news we just had our first week of no work since we started. Only a few deliveries to the house but no work. Tilers were supposed to start last week but apparently they are starting next week now. And our SS has told us that she thinks the house will be finished by October. 30/01/15 - Land Settlement 07/04/15 - Contract & colour selections 05/05/15- Council approval 28/05/15 - Site start Build Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76068 Re: Plantation Homes QLD - Soho 4 - Cabinets! 63Aug 21, 2015 9:17 pm Maybe its just my phone that cant see the pictures . Tiles are complete inside and we are so happy with the choices! Bench tops, basins, sinks and down pipes have also been installed/finished. Painters were there this afternoon sanding ready to begin painting Monday. Fit off has been scheduled for the following week. SS has told us handover will be any time between late September and mid October... Fingers crossed for late September as there's not too much left to do now. http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Mobile%20Uploads/image_6.jpg 30/01/15 - Land Settlement 07/04/15 - Contract & colour selections 05/05/15- Council approval 28/05/15 - Site start Build Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76068 Re: Plantation Homes QLD - Soho 4 - Tiles! 66Aug 28, 2015 6:31 pm http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Mobile%20Uploads/image_7.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Mobile%20Uploads/image_8.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Mobile%20Uploads/image_10.jpg 30/01/15 - Land Settlement 07/04/15 - Contract & colour selections 05/05/15- Council approval 28/05/15 - Site start Build Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76068 Re: Plantation Homes QLD - Soho 4 - Tiles! 67Aug 28, 2015 6:37 pm Looks beautiful EmKaralyn! They still need to fit off shower screens, mirrors and fix a few things but it's all looking on track. We've started going through our post handover checklist and have scheduled the renders on the first weekend (Oct 9 & 10) and solar panels on Friday Oct 9. We're still confirming which carpet supplier we'll be going with but plan to have them in the afternoon on Thursday the 8th after handover in the morning - we're locking that in this week. My husband will install the downstairs floorboards on Thursday and Friday afternoon/evening (8th & 9th). We'll be moving in on the 9th and 10th whilst the renderers are working. http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Kitchen%20Pendants.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/AC%20Unit.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Garage%20light.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Dining%20light.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Stain%201.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Downstairs%20hallway.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Lounge%20room%20lights.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Ensuite%20lights.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Stairpendant.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Stair%20pendants%202.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Laundry%201.jpg 30/01/15 - Land Settlement 07/04/15 - Contract & colour selections 05/05/15- Council approval 28/05/15 - Site start Build Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76068 Re: Plantation Homes QLD - Soho 4 - Handover Oct 8 71Sep 25, 2015 10:51 am agf18 Looks amazing! I'm excited but anxious - there's still a fair bit of work I would have wanted done before handover... we went into the house yesterday afternoon and found a list of defects, only mainly minor things but hopefully they are fixing it all today.. We realised also realised that the pull cord we had paid for in the living room (so we can have the tv on the wall and the cords hiding inside the wall to the tv cabinet on the ground), hadn't been installed by the electricians... despite having been through the house several times since electrical fit off, we only just realised!! So I guess that will be a post handover job... (this wasn't on the defects list). We're also still awaiting the completion of our retaining wall.. when they did it prior to laying the slab, they only retained the length of the house, despite us paying extra to have it extended to the back fence. We have in writing that it will be completed before handover so if it's not done today, I'll be disappointed. We have a small dog, so it's not like they can just come and finish it off as they please over the next couple of weeks... it would have to be when we're home. We're also pretty disappointed about the quality of our full timber staircase and we'll be asking for it to be fixed tomorrow... we paid $3500 for them and we expect them to be completed to a high standard. Instead there is a few screws poking out underneath the rails, gaps in between the trends and the outer rails, excess glue oozing out between timber joins, gaps between the stairs and the outer walls and rails aren't flush with the posts. We also are going to query what colour the stairs were stained... they were supposed to be stained with a clear gloss but doesn't look like it. Most of the things on the defect list, we hadn't realise/had no idea what they were talking about. But a major problem is that they didn't install a substrate on the kitchen bench... so the bench top is sitting directly on top of the cabinet with nothing in between... they will be an interesting fix... Other than that, a few paint touch ups we'll ask to be done if they aren't done today and when they installed the sliding wardrobe doors, there are scratches on the aluminium frames and doors that we'll ask to be replaced/painted. Overall pretty happy provided these things are fixed! 30/01/15 - Land Settlement 07/04/15 - Contract & colour selections 05/05/15- Council approval 28/05/15 - Site start Build Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76068 Re: Plantation Homes QLD - Soho 4 - Handover TOMORROW - Oct 73Oct 07, 2015 10:31 am Good luck! I have just started building with plantation and have chosen a full timber staircase in durian timber with clear finish also. I have to admit your stairs appear rather darker then what I was shown as an example at my colours appointment. p.s your house looks amazing! Re: Plantation Homes QLD - Soho 4 - PostHandover - 8/10/15 76Oct 20, 2015 12:13 pm Our were stained clear gloss, we are most unhappy about or staircase finishes... I ended up doing it myself because they kept screwing up ! So apparently our stairs were stained clearly... some parts of the stairs are lighter than others it's just the way the timber is apparently. We've been in our house two weeks tomorrow so time for photos! Hubby has finished the flooring downstairs apart from some of the skirting still to do. We have finished 3/4 of the WIR. Other than the the inside is complete apart from the unpacking to do! Outside, the rendering has been done and it looks great... such a big difference rendered. We just need it to paint it though, which we should be doing this weekend. The driveway was laid and grinded last weekend - we have grinded exposed aggregate - it looks amazing although you can't really see it well in the photo below - this was before it was grinded back. http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Driveway.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Hallway%20Floor.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Kitchen%20Floor.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Dinng%20Table.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Lounge.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/WIR%20Shoes.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Master%20Bed%20Suite.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/Study%20Floors.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee439/Emma-Leigh_Begg/WIR2.jpg 30/01/15 - Land Settlement 07/04/15 - Contract & colour selections 05/05/15- Council approval 28/05/15 - Site start Build Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76068 Re: Plantation Homes QLD - Soho 4 - PostHandover - 8/10/15 79Oct 21, 2015 11:06 am kato0509 How amazing is your WIR! Love the shoe section! We are also doing ours port handover. Love your flooring too! Well done. Thanks Kato. It's definitely time consuming if you're getting it from Ikea. But it's fun and fairly easy. Amazing quality too. We just wished we got a powerpoint in the WIR so we could buy the LED strip lights that turn on as you walk into the room from IKEA too - they were around $30-50 - there's not battery powered ones unfortunately! 30/01/15 - Land Settlement 07/04/15 - Contract & colour selections 05/05/15- Council approval 28/05/15 - Site start Build Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76068 Hi all.
