I hope you guys are really happy with your lovely home. Can't wait to see all the move in photos Re: We're Building a Metricon Barkly 29 202Jun 02, 2015 7:47 am It's been pretty amazing even though it feels like forever! We should have the other side of the fence in today. Apparently the posts went up yesterday. Will do final shots once everything is in to put next to our renders also. Re: We're Building a Metricon Barkly 29 203Jun 02, 2015 7:48 am Oh and Chaton....hee hee can't help myself....when the street is full of people working on homes we're guaranteed a spot now...our own driveway! Re: We're Building a Metricon Barkly 29 204Jun 02, 2015 5:13 pm Ok...so went up at lunch time to check on the fence and aw a nice black and white Metricon 4WD out the front.....knew straight away who it was and saw the house open....so bolted up with the camera and finally got inside the house!!!!!! WOW.....still a few things to get finalised but man....I wish I could have chained myself to the kitchen sink and be locked in my own home! So took a stack of photos. We also received a call from the company who have made curtains for the sliding doors in the dining room and theatre and will pick them up this weekend. So they are good to go. Ordering the shutters tomorrow...it's all go go go. I also did a walkthrough of the house. Didn't have a proper video camera on me so just used Richard's mobile. To keep the file down I have reduced the quality a bit but gives you an idea what the house looks like to walk through it. Too many photos to label but have a squiz through and enjoy. Oh and yes....most of those are my footsteps...hee hee...no shoes on in our house! Leave em at the door! Re: We're Building a Metricon Barkly 29 205Jun 02, 2015 8:00 pm Love it, just love it! That image under the wardrobe in one of the bedrooms and above the main bathroom, is it your gym area (the Leisure or childrens retreat on standard plans)? It looks out to the fence on the service side but we will have nice herbs and climbing plants going up the fence there. Re: We're Building a Metricon Barkly 29 207Jun 03, 2015 2:09 pm Congrats Richandshez your almost there, your home is looking beautiful, still love the internal paint colour it looks so crisp. Very exciting that all the curtains and shutters are ready to go. Who was your ss just out of curiosity sakes? Re: We're Building a Metricon Barkly 29 208Jun 03, 2015 3:13 pm I know and I received confirmation from the bank the last invoice is being paid this week so we could even more in sooner than I thought. Tom Cornwell. He's an amazing SS, bloody good guy and gets stuff happening!!!! Richard has been busy getting final prices for moving, a rental truck, etc etc....so he's been busy and hasn't even started work yet...phew!!! Oh and so many people love the internal paint. We're darn stoked about it as it's am amazing job!!!!!! Re: We're Building a Metricon Barkly 29 209Jun 03, 2015 10:35 pm That's great news!!! Got to love it when the bank plays ball. Sounds like a great ss, getting to know ours and he seems like a really nice man. Regardless Richard is ran off his feet it's for the best cause ever. Have you put much thought into your gardens? Agree with the other peeps your painting is superb, I'm not a lover of browns but I think your converting me it makes the house look huge and crisp Re: We're Building a Metricon Barkly 29 210Jun 04, 2015 6:48 am It's not really true brown so that might be why....It's actually a mushroom, it's as much grey as brown. The dark feature walls are a dark slightly blue grey and of course the red. Gardens...we are putting in 2 raised beds around the service side of the house and the backyard, you can see the high area in the photos. It will be 1 sleeper high. Those will be for herbs and vines passionfruit etc, and the front yard will have a tree somewhere and a garden bed at some point in the middle of the lawn but have not decided what type yet. We want to see the turf in so we can see how it really looks first and that is happening on the 10th at the back, the remaining fence and gates go in on the 13/14th and them Metricon will do the front yard after handover (by arrangement) so the bobcat doing the backyard does not mess up the front lawn. Any left over topsoil can go in raised beds. Re: We're Building a Metricon Barkly 29 211Jun 09, 2015 2:38 pm Ok...so PC today and all signed off on. Just chasing up Origin for the gas metre they haven't installed that I ordered 2 weeks ago...tut tut....anyway these will be final internal shots as the next lot will be once we have moved in and will be for family and friends to view. I will have a few more external after tomorrow as the lawn out the back is going in tomorrow so all exciting stuff. The house is so amazing, and looks even better with all the trimmings (minus glass splashback, cooking stuff, dishwasher, etc)..so enjoy! Good plan with the gardens, you have a rough plan and seeing how it looks first will make the final decisions much easier. Re: We're Building a Metricon Barkly 29 213Jun 09, 2015 11:58 pm Wow your pc photos look fantastic, I can't even imagine how excited your guys must be. Everything looks fab, the paint work is crisp and the carpets look really lovely too. So nice to hear you guys have had such a great experience. So pc was today do you have to wait long for hand over? (Your my gage ) Re: We're Building a Metricon Barkly 29 214Jun 10, 2015 8:51 am Stunning, as expected RichandShez! Can't wait to see with furniture and comparing to your renders. And Tribe7 that's awesome! With our key hand over date we're hoping the 19th now that the gas metre is in...Yes Origin installed that this morning and I even took a photo to proove it (no not going to add it here it's just a metre) so we're now waiting to hear from our SS to confirm the date so we can book removalist, truck to move stuff ourselves etc etc. And yes I will have to do a shot of the house and put them along side the renders. Re: We're Building a Metricon Barkly 29 216Jun 10, 2015 2:25 pm Grass is in...well almost. We now have to go home each night to water. Tonight will be the longest water as we need to leave it to soak for a few hours the first time. They advised late afternoon to night is best so we'll be going there with torches, fold up chairs, our laptops and working from there for an hour or so (longer tonight) while the soaker soaks the water into the lawn. Takes about 2 weeks for it to be established so perfect timing really. Was about 90% completed when we got there at lunch but when we return later on will be completed. Two different species as the service side doesn't get much sun so it's a tougher grass compared to the rest. Thank you for putting up those backyard photos! We have the same length block as you, front to back, so I imagine our backyard will be the same size (about 4m from house to fence?). It looks like plenty of room for us, and looks great with the turf! Did you arrange the turf yourself, like with the fences? Or do M do it? However for one side of us our service side the next door house builder organised that instead. Right now we're sitting on our back patio in darkness working and watering the lawn and getting soaked ourselves....bit chilly too!!! Re: We're Building a Metricon Barkly 29 219Jun 14, 2015 9:03 am The gates and side fence has now been completed as well as the garden bed out the back ready for all sorts of goodies!!! The grass patches on the garden is just temporary. We didn't want to let them die as we'll use them to patch up any bits so carefully placed them on the garden bed for now.
