Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Fairwater in Blacktown by Australand 388Oct 29, 2015 7:15 pm As everyone say the Devil is in Details and Here is the moment of Truth ..... Below is the my view on Quality of Construction and things which Fraser Property group need to fix ASAP:- (i) Firstly the construction has been so much rushed that half of the things inside the home are unfinished. Below are some of the pictures which I took when i went for my property inspection today. (ii) They removed the Laundry Cabinets without even letting us know and today Customer Relation team said it's an add-on on the display "Ambience" house. (iii) They changed our house Facade from timber to metal strip without letting us know and when i asked today they said sorry it was a fire safety issue . So half house they left timber and half house they went with metal strips ... which destroys whole looks of the house. (iv) They didn't provided the dish washer (which they didn't promise) but flyscreen, blinds and security alarm is also not installed ... I mean it take only couple of $1000's extra for all of these thing to include in their package. (v) They divided our backyard in two different levels which make it garden even smaller ... watch out for that guys. (vi) The Kitchen splashback isn't laid down properly ... tiling finish was not great (vii) They left the garage floor in really bad condition and when I pointed that out ... they said there isn't much which they can do about it. It seems like that home has been rushed a lot and no one has paid any attention in details specially supervisors. They will give you home and it's your responsibility to properly clean it as, it's not their part when I asked why it's not clean. Up-stairs everything seem fine and I could't fault anything but other build's like Eden Brae charges bit more but certainly they deliver better quality homes than Fraser Property Group. Sorry to hear that some of the construction quality is not up to what you expected it to be. I understand from the contract we signed we have a grace period during which we can report back any damages/incomplete work (either through the solicitor or by ourselves) to Fraser Property. However, I believe they will attend to these matters if it has a effect on the overall structure of the house. Now I could be wrong in this and it could be applicable for any damages/incomplete construction. Best to go through your solicitor on this, as they know the whole contract inside out. Not sure what was mentioned at the premier collection briefing, but when we purchased ours at our briefing we were told that blinds, security systems and curtains were NOT going to be installed and that it is our responsibility to install it. We were informed that we would be provided with gas cook top, oven and dishwasher. Pity to hear about the laundry cabinets, guess they would be those added costs for property owners after settlement. When you mean the garden has two levels, do you mean there is a slope with one section of the garden on a higher level and the other at a lower level? Agree, the kitchen splash back does look that it could have been done better. The display homes kitchen splash backs did not have big gap between the tiles as shown in your picture. Btw which part of the house is shown in that second picture?? also I am assuming the 3rd and 4th pictures are the garage pictures? I hope things get sorted for you without any further delays. Thanks for sharing it mate. Is there anyone else from the premier collection experiencing similar issues? Someone earlier did say the rental properties were done quite well, having said that I am not sure whether it was bought by someone to rent or whether its Fraser Property that is renting it out. Let us know how everything goes. Thank you Re: Fairwater in Blacktown by Australand 392Oct 30, 2015 1:01 pm Fairwater Buyer I found out the prices (though i don't have a price list!) Habitat townhome: FROM $727,000. I thought oh well, I guess I will purchase a contempo even if it has a community fee and then find out that the contempo is $750 000! Its much smaller than the habitat and has a community fee! And more expensive. Sure its detached, but being detached isn't worth $23,000, 40m2 less of space and having a community fee. I am not interested in Fairwater anymore, been recently looking at brand new/ near new homes in Blacktown or preferably Bungarribee. try gardene estate Schofields, I managed to get a 330 sqm lot in the avenue through mirvac. I was trying to buy in fairwater but it was surely over my budget. Re: Fairwater in Blacktown by Australand 393Oct 30, 2015 4:17 pm @Alfred1855 Congrats u for the purchase. Btw have you got a price list to share with us? look for Rjz's earlier post to show you how to post a picture here. @Rjz i am sorry to hear about your frustration. I'm sure dishwasher is included in the schedule of finish in my release. Btw which property you are getting in the premium release? I bought a similar townhome in Kellyville year ago from Eden Brae. The settlement process went very well. They recorded my every single complaint on the remedial work checklist upon settlement and have them all fixed within 13 weeks. So don't give up complaining until your interests are taken care of. I strongly suggest you to take a look of the rental property on display for comparison ( e.g. laundry cabin and workmanship etc ) Re: Fairwater in Blacktown by Australand 394Oct 30, 2015 4:23 pm Ankush23- Schofields is a bit too far for me. Thanks anyway! Re: Fairwater in Blacktown by Australand 397Oct 30, 2015 4:39 pm Alfred1855 how to post pic anyone know? Homeone blog doesn't allow to upload any pictures but you can use http://tinypic.com where you should be able to upload price list and share the link of "IMG" here from the website. Re: Fairwater in Blacktown by Australand 398Oct 30, 2015 8:55 pm @DASI :- Yes, I know that we can go back to Fraser and they will fix these issues but I mean they shouldn't have over looked if they are promising quality homes.
Also, below is the garden picture which will give you an idea what they have done in premier stage gardens (Maybe they might have done this because there was 1.5m Easement). Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Also, second and third pictures are from Garage and it's Floors. @Jappy : I am comparing my property with display home as we have the same floor plan and certainly i am going to get everything fixed but this is something which is very common with small builders and wasn't expecting from Australand - That's all. @Alfred1855 : If you not happy with property at your pre-settlement inspection then please don't sign your inspection form and they won't be able to push you for settlement - hope this helps. Re: Fairwater in Blacktown by Australand 400Nov 01, 2015 10:12 am @Rjz, thanks for sharing your experience. I am also concerned about the quality of their workmanship. Have they fixed up all the mess or agreed to before you signed to settle in? @ Alfred1855, any chance to post us the price list? |
