How are you settling in? viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75840&view=unread#unread I drove out to the house A LOT haha Those last few weeks definitely crawled! We are settling in well! Getting used to our new routines (DD in 4yo kinder, getting used to not living within walking distance to the shops so ordering groceries etc online lol). Our fences are up and we're waiting for the grass to grow and I think we are finally going to start our front landscaping this weekend We have SO much more room so it's been great finding spots for everything - I think the linen cupboard might be my favourite thing ever lol (It's probably a bit crazy but I kind of miss those exciting first weeks of the build and watching the house go up!) Yesss it's dragging so bad :/ haha we have been out almost every day for the last month. It's so exhausting but i have to go lol. Yeh I reckon I'm going to miss waiting for the next bit of progress each week....it still hasn't sunk in yet...how is your grass? Does it take long to grow? viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75840&view=unread#unread Building with Statesman Homes in Myponga, SA View our thread here: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75840&view=unread#unread Re: Myponga Build - Statesman Homes - Painting Stage 206Mar 10, 2016 5:34 pm lishaun Those last few weeks definitely crawled Yesss it's dragging so bad :/ haha we have been out almost every day for the last month. On the 27th it will be a year from when we decided to do this whole thing. It took ages for the whole thing to sink in for me too. I really couldn't imagine the whole thing being an actual house when we were done! The grass is slowwwwwwly growing lol We decided on emerald kikuyu seeds with rye grass. So the rye grass comes up first to crowd out any weeds that might come in before the kikuyu starts growing (it's slow) and then the kikuyu eventually grows and takes over. We're still in the rye grass stage. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I sowed the seeds last Monday (29th Feb) and noticed the first little sprouts on Sunday. The trickiest bit has been keeping it watered enough. Hopefully after a bit of rain then a sunny day it will really start growing. It's been raining basically all day and no puddles so that's good at least! Checked out our house on Friday and it has been cleaned! It looks sparkling! Really wasn't expecting a good clean so bonus! So next time we see our house we will be getting the keys!!! Stove and hot water system are the only things left to do...so hopefully they will be getting done during/before handover!! Air con and cobcrete perimeter /driveway is our mission this week! Next week fencing and flooring! Re: Myponga Build - Statesman Homes - Painting Stage 208Mar 13, 2016 4:03 pm lishaun Oh how exciting to see the grass sprouting!! Won't take too long then!! They did a pretty good job at our place then someone walked through with muddy shoes and they had to redo the carpets Simonds won't do appliances until you are moved in due to theft risk. We got everything put in the day after we moved in (plus they needed 5 days notice so it was good we didn't move in straight away). Eeek! So exciting that the next time you go in will be with keys!
