Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 18, 2008 10:59 pm This from a building contract factsheet on the Consumer Affairs website:
"Building Permits Ensure that you or the builder (acting as your agent) have obtained building permits from a building surveyor. Do not sign a blank document authorising the builder to lodge all documents for you. Make sure you read the permit applications and sign them if you agree." Did anyone read and signed the actual building permit application? Or did you sign a blank document giving builder the authority to apply for the permit on your behalf? "Completion and final payment The builder should also supply you with trade certificates for: • plumbing • glazing • electrical works • insulation • termite inspection and treatment." There's no mention of these things on my contract ... should I insert a special condition requiring the builder to supply these before the Final Claim? Re: Contract - Building Permit & Trade Certificates 3Jun 20, 2008 2:28 pm Doesn't look like anyone else has bothered with these things ... Re: Contract - Building Permit & Trade Certificates 4Jun 20, 2008 2:31 pm We never saw the building permit application, we just received a copy when it was approved.
We received all the certificates at handover. Didnt have to ask for them, PD have a "new home care" folder which had them all in it as well as other info. Built Porter Davis "Dromana" 2007. Can you give advice on how to get missing certificates needed for a form 21? Our bank requires us to provide one but we are missing 4 building certificates from our first… 3 71735 No, not yet. It’s currently being assessed by our building surveyor 4 6306 |
