Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 08, 2015 1:06 am Hi All, Just wondering if anyone is building with or has built with National Homes or any other builders under BGC. Care to share your building experience with us here? All details (contract details, time spent on build, any delays/problems faced, advice) would be appreciated, cheers. Re: Anyone building with National Homes or builders under BG 2Feb 12, 2015 11:01 pm Our build with National Homes has been a long hard slog. Inefficiency is the order of the day. Very poor customer service. Long delays in administration. Lots of stuff ups with the build. PM me and I can give you full details! My advice to anyone would be steer clear of building with the BGC group. Re: Anyone building with National Homes or builders under BG 3Feb 12, 2015 11:06 pm It all depends on the builder and each persons individual build. We built with Aussie Living for our first home and it was a nightmare. We are building with Smart Homes for our second home and it's been amazing! Both part of BGC. Re: Anyone building with National Homes or builders under BG 4Feb 12, 2015 11:25 pm We are building with National. Well, we are still in "Admin" phase and it is going very slowly ..... We chose them however because the house plan suited our needs and our block the best, plus the sales guy has been excellent. Just need admin to pull their finger out!! Re: Anyone building with National Homes or builders under BG 5Feb 14, 2015 8:02 pm Attempting to build with Commodore who are part of BGC - absolute nightmare, the delays, lack of communication and the mistakes are just a joke. Been almost 6months since slab down and still only at plate height with no sign of roof Take a look at my thread (in signature) if you want to read the full horror story! The first night in their new weekender down south west and their build with Aussie Living was a nightmare too. Really crap quality of workmanship they had to push hard to get things rectified. Hopeless Ss too... Re: Anyone building with National Homes or builders under BG 7Mar 21, 2015 1:29 am tristyn1989 It all depends on the builder and each persons individual build. We built with Aussie Living for our first home and it was a nightmare. We are building with Smart Homes for our second home and it's been amazing! Both part of BGC. Just for clarity sake - neither of these builders are part of the BGC group, but rather both part of the Ventura Homes Group. Re: Anyone building with National Homes or builders under BG 9Jul 09, 2015 7:09 pm Impressions, National Homes, WA Housing, Commodore, Perceptions all are part of BGC group. BGC group builds a lot of homes each year and unfortunately only bad reviews travel very fast. Unable to find any good recommendation for BGC Group. Comparatively Impressions is probably better. However BGC group is offering a very good value for money. Probably better price than ContentLiving/Dreamstart. Because they own many construction material business and they use their own products. Re: Anyone building with National Homes or builders under BG 13Oct 01, 2015 1:28 am Thought i would come back now that i'm a bit further along. Sadly, no improvement really - if anything it's gotten worse. All the way along through the exhaustive admin process your reassured once it goes to site it will fly along, thats a complete load of bullocks. Nearly 6 months since slab went down and don't even have a roof. The whole process has been at best a shambles.. delays at every stage, completely disorganized and the house has spent weeks just sitting there with nothing happening. Communication has been pretty much non existent. The only updates i get are in response to me contacting them and the replies need to be taken with a grain of salt as there is a complete disconnect between the girls in the office and whats happening onsite. A good example - was advised electrical prewire and plumbing had been completed, visited the site and neither had even been started. Electrical was done a week later, and plumbing about a month afterwards.
