We'd love to hear how the lovely new house is going Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: Coral Homes MSP (Winton) 244Jun 15, 2015 4:13 pm Move went well thanks guys. It is such a nice feeling having a home for things again and seeing our creation in the flesh with our belongings in it! Tuesday move day was such a busy day with the removalists, blinds installation, new lounge and new fridge delivery. Wednesday we had solar installed and we are still waiting for Energex to come out and change over our meter. Thursday fencing and landscaping started and due to the weather we are still waiting for its completion. The landscaper is all concerned that it's taking so long and we keep reassuring him it's no big issue. The side and rear fences are done. The front is what's taking longer. Turf has also been laid on the council strip. All that's left is the turf inside the fence to be done. From a coral homes perspective there are a couple of issues still to be resolved. The windows that were badly scratched are being replaced this Wednesday and the ensuite mirror is still waiting for its fix. Regency are blaming the wall and coral are blaming the mirror. I'll give the SS to the end of the week to respond or I'll start to push further. Very ironic now, that the first time I've been out of work with the sun still up, with good light to take pictures; and I am sitting at the qantas lounge on my way to Sydney for work. I've been so busy since the move with work that I leave in the dark and arrive home in the dark. Lol You might just have to live with the random snaps I have on the iPad for now. I'll have to take an evening now and catch up on all your builds!!! Imagine the box forts you can build!!! LOL Pretty sure that's what my boys will be doing when we move in I LOVE your panel glide blinds. Or at least I think that's what they're called. On the back door? Were they pricey? Could you PM me some details if you get a minute? Do they seem durable? For example, would they survive a couple of hits by a soccer ball? Did Coral do your driveway and paths or was that external? Your fencing must have cost a bomb, but it looks fantastic. Yep Mellywil there were soooo many boxes I had the car filled each day going to work and I may have snuck a couple into bins around the place too When my nieces came to visit all they wanted to do was play in the boxes. We had our first family dinner at home on Saturday night and the first question they asked when they arrived 'have you got any boxes left!!!' Sadly for them there isn't - until I build the outdoor setting. Lol Yep they are panel glide blinds. For me it was really the only option for the sliding doors as I am not a fan of curtains and working out roller blinds for that area just did my head in! The installer said he hadn't done a roller blind that big for a while (we have 4.8m of glass to cover, plus need extra room either side in order for the blinds to clear the glass when open). I'll PM you with some details for sure. We did our driveway and paths out of contract. It was actually with the guy who does Corals concreting but we dealt with him directly and not surprisingly saved a bit. For the same price coral quoted for our driveway, we were able to get the driveway and all paths front back and sides done. OMG yes fencing is a small fortune but we always knew it was going to be and it has been in the budget since we bought the block. Originally it was going to be colorbond slat but we went for merbau decking instead and we are stoked with the result. Only decision to make now is to stain or not to stain! I'll enjoy my driveway even more when I don't have to leave the car on it I sent you a PM Mellywil. Not sure if it went through as it was doing silly things. Let me know if not. I have finally finished work at a daylight hour so have managed to snap a few final outdoor pics. Love having our own space again and overall happy with the Coral process. Just one last issue to fix which is the ensuite mirror. Building our first dream home in NSW Re: Coral Homes MSP (Winton) 257Nov 24, 2015 10:00 am Hey s_mack, Really Nice MSP plan and well designed outdoor area. Are you on corner lot ? Is it possible for you to send your plan siting on your block? Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13771 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4338 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74701 |
