Ours have been left unpainted and one even has our address written on it! Re: Building the Emporio ER432 with MainVue / Henley 662Sep 21, 2015 8:56 pm Hi, have been neglecting h1 a bit sorry Most of the unpacking is done, except for the garage and a few random boxes of bits and pieces which I keep putting off and keeps multiplying! Still a few outstanding items from handover but they are slowly being attended to by Mainvue. I did get the beams in the alfresco painted though they did not want to do it for me but as there were some stuff I could have made get fixed for handover which we didn't we bartered for it. I don't like how they are not painted, especially the lintels above doors and windows which are still unpainted so we will do it ourselves one day. Re: sound insulation I would definitely recommend getting some sort of acoustic insulation. We notice the sounds in the pipes from bathrooms (especially if there is no TV on) and generally when the kids are moving around it sounds like a herd of elephants! When they are having a squabble it drives me nuts as the noise is ridiculous. They are upstairs playing just dance on the Xbox and we can definitely hear thumping noises. Wishing we had put in sound insulation around pipes and in the subfloor as the normal insulation does nothing - especially above the living room at the back of the house. sassid ...building the Emporio with MainVue/Henley BLOG: http://thewaldorfproject.blogspot.com.au/ HOMEONE THREAD : https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75753 Re: Building the Emporio ER432 with MainVue / Henley 665Sep 21, 2015 9:15 pm Ha ha yes! It doesn't really bother me except when they are fighting but it is probably more the fact they are fighting lol. sassid ...building the Emporio with MainVue/Henley BLOG: http://thewaldorfproject.blogspot.com.au/ HOMEONE THREAD : https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75753 Re: Building the Emporio ER432 with MainVue / Henley 666Sep 21, 2015 9:29 pm So some outstanding things from handover are : - brick washer still has to come back to wash some bricks and touch up mortar where it came out when facade lights were installed and where bits have eroded in sill of garage window; - renderer has been back to patch up holes in render from when facade lights were installed - I hope he has only done undercoat as it looks bad and is different colour to the acratek; - heater dude came today to fix heater vent which was not installed properly (clips were missing so it was drooping on one side). Though he was supposed to call half hour before but decides to call from my driveway while I was at work - I had to say to him did you press the doorbell? Which he hadn't! Had to tell him to go to the front door and push the doorbell as the kids were site supervisor today! - marble people are booked to fix a couple of chips in the bench - kitchen people also coming this week to check out a dint in top edge of cupboard under sink and figure out how to install cooktop correctly - it is just sitting unfixed in the cutout as cooktop fixing bracket does not match up with cutout. - range hood is getting replaced one day as it was damaged either before or at install (the one appliance Henley actually provided lol). Sparkles also have to replace island PowerPoint with a slimline one. It is currently a fat one without a cover. - painters have to come back again, they have been told multiple times what they had to do but kept missing bits each time (the tops of external Timber doors) and also discovered black marks on walls next to all mirrors which need painting over. Getting all our audio-visual stuff connected and up in wall properly has been a work in progress - had to make an emergency dash to bunnings the other day for special aerial connectors and different power cord extension lead so all cords could fit behind our slimline brackets. Managed to get better reception just by playing with the aerial cables but each time I played with configuration I had to rescan for channels but all good now touch wood. sassid ...building the Emporio with MainVue/Henley BLOG: http://thewaldorfproject.blogspot.com.au/ HOMEONE THREAD : https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75753 Building the Emporio ER432 with MainVue / Henley 667Sep 21, 2015 9:31 pm Apart from that we have settled into our house really nicely - no adjustment period really - already fees like home and the layout suits our family perfectly! My son has started the gardens, I took him to get plants today. We are starting in the front yard and getting it done section by section rather than the whole thing at once. Today he did the part beside the driveway and the little bit near the gas metre behind the facade level. sassid ...building the Emporio with MainVue/Henley BLOG: http://thewaldorfproject.blogspot.com.au/ HOMEONE THREAD : https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75753 Re: Building the Emporio ER432 with MainVue / Henley 668Sep 21, 2015 10:09 pm Thanks Sassid. I imagine there is still so much to do once you move in, don't blame you for not having time for H1. I appreciate your feed back re insulation, think ours is going in tomorrow, may now be too late to upgrade. But I'll see what I can do. Lots for MV to still fix up, hopefully they'll sort that soon. Re: Building the Emporio ER432 with MainVue / Henley 669Sep 21, 2015 10:11 pm Drew01 siapao Drew01
So how is the house going, are you all settled in or still unpacking? How's the noise from the kids upstairs while you are downstairs? I am wondering if we should be doing insulation between. I looked at the pipes from the toilet and bathroom running right above the kitchen and dinning area. Can you hear it when the toilet is flushed upstairs? We are insulating between the upstairs and downstairs for noise and thermal reasons... It was a pretty minimal cost Hey Drew1 with the insulation you got in the subfloor is it purely thermal or did you get a product which has high noise dampening properties as well? Pretty sure it will do both... I think we specified SoundScreen, which was about an extra $4 per square metre installed
Thanks Drew01 Re: Building the Emporio ER432 with MainVue / Henley 670Sep 21, 2015 11:25 pm Hi Sassid, Great to hear that the family has settled into their new home. People spend big $'s to minimise the noise transfer with limited success. To do this you need to contact stone installer or Henley and request the batch number for your stone which you then contact caesarstone with and they send it out to you. Not sure if this is in all the paperwork you get given at handover or not - as I have not ready any of it, better put it on my to do list;) sassid ...building the Emporio with MainVue/Henley BLOG: http://thewaldorfproject.blogspot.com.au/ HOMEONE THREAD : https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75753 Re: Building the Emporio ER432 with MainVue / Henley 675Sep 22, 2015 9:31 am Good tip! House looking great. We are just about to sign contract for our er432 with the same facade... I have a quick question.
