'You shouldn't hose your laundry', I think if I told him my mum does that he would just waterproof the lot for me. But he said it's not needed also cos we have a door and the water can run out the door. And it's just the ground floor. The gyrockers did such a messy job that my whole floor is a total mess! So tomorrow on my day I'm having to spend time cleaning. Tomorrow I'm also finalising my tiles, and locking in my floor boards which would be a big relief I'm over pondering. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75739&p=1299716#p1299716 Re: Custom home design Sydney - narrow block - bricks & wind 522May 19, 2016 12:50 pm Building4my3tots The waterproof is at the property his week doing their thing, I was surprised that they only did a perimeter seal in the down stairs laundry room, spoke with the builder he said that 's standard. Wouldn't worry too much about the laundry only having perimeter waterproofed. That's actually all we had done too plus the drain and as you know my tilers/ waterproofers were quite OTT. My gyprockers were only the second messiest trade LOL. Carpenters win that one! I've actually given up cleaning as it just constantly gets messy straight away. No one cares. I will do final vacuum of the ply upstairs on Sunday as my carpet goes down Monday ended up booking a professional construction cleaner for Tuesday as too busy packing and cleaning old place to do new one also. All the best with tiles and floorboards. Floor sander and painter are working together this week at my place to get floorboards and stairs finished. They look AMAZING!!!! Final coat tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up re mess! But it's so bad it need a lot of a tidy up or else its borders onto a work hazard. I'm so looking forward to your polisher and stair! I have done what you've done got a different man out, who specialises in only sanding and polishing. Using A water based product called Bona... I laugh at the name all the time when I say it lol. I feel reassured that your laundry got he same treatment as mine. Meeting up with freedom kitchen crew Tomorrow I told them I did t need their service but they insist that it's free! So, if they price it right I'll just let them do my kitchen and Laundry Re: Custom home design Sydney - narrow block - bricks & wind 524May 19, 2016 2:49 pm My friend is using BONA also. Just been there to drop some stuff off. 2nd coat is on stairs already and about to go on floors. Very happy we decided to go with timber over tiles. So warm in temperature and feel. I'll try to get some photos on the weekend before I cover them all up. Carpenters were really messy doing the fit out of skirting so, architraves and doors. That dust seems to have blown everywhere on every surface. Good luck with kitchen and laundry tomorrow too then! You're going to be busy! Took your advice, and didn't bother sweeping, well...also ran out of time that day cos the freedom guy took 2 hours! I didn't end of going with them, they couldn't deliver on price and style and used these foil wrap product that I've never hear of before. I did learn however what hettich hinges looked like. I've paid for and finalised all my tiles! Caved in and spent the $81/m2 on a feature wall tile from TFO... Was tossing between the hexagon look, but thought that look will date, so the tiles I settled for in the ensuite is this... We got our tiles delivered and I had to watch the builder usher the truck into the back of the house. Inch by inch! It was very nerve wrecking! But that wasn't the hard bit, the 2nd tile company came late so the builder left for the day, and it was me who needs to get the tiles to the back of the house! But I couldn't do it, and the truck driver wouldn't do it either, we tried once and we both gave up. So tiles had to be craned over the toilet to get the other side and with windy Sydney it was stomach churning! I'm so glad it's done. And I now know the relief that gandn felt when she saw the last of the cranes! Amen! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Builder did a good job of getting the truck into the back of the house. The kids at times still ask to go back to Melbourne but in general have settled better than i expected. I don't think I want a melted down pipe so need to find time to call them out again. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Should be 150mm away from.
