Also getting a quote for the security doors to go with the stacker doors. We have the option to go with Crimsafe Invisguard, Aluminum, steel or fiberglass. Invisguard is going to cost twice as much - each panel is $1,000 - so all up $4,000 for our family and dinning area doors. I am not sure - I am inclined toward the invisguard - just provides security, where as my family think it is an overkill Which one would you go with? Security doors are good but often kill the look of the doors and especially of sliding or stacker doors don't provide that much security. I believe security alarms are a better deterrence for intruders and to alert the neighbours. Orpheus Building the Metricon Glendale 38|Sydney Re: KDRB Metricon Glendale 38 (Sydney) - Roof 643Sep 14, 2015 12:49 am Sorry can't help you monalisa, I'm with Orpheus here, I would prefer to have a beautiful front door and not hide it behind a security door. So will be having alarm and possibly cctv camera security as well (actually we would be having those anyway) especially to see who is there without having to open the door. Re: KDRB Metricon Glendale 38 (Sydney) - Roof 644Sep 14, 2015 1:29 am Hi. .. not going to get over for the front door. ... more keen on stacker doors at the back. Fingers crossed for you viewtopic.php?t=78985 Re: KDRB Metricon Glendale 38 (Sydney) - Roof 648Sep 16, 2015 1:10 am monalisa Hi. .. not going to get over for the front door. ... more keen on stacker doors at the back. Oops sorry I misread, thanks for clarifying. Although, my answer is still the same, I'd prefer video cameras and alarm system over security doors. My grandfather actually has the crimsafe internal sliding security door for his sliding glass door, although it's only a double panel (one fixed, one slides) so not really a true stacker. The crimsafe looks just like a thick-wire fly screen, so not the "gaol"-type look of traditional steel security doors, which is a huge benefit. The only problem with it though it is noticeably darker inside the house with the crimsafe door. Sorry I guess I'm not being that helpful for you!! Re: KDRB Metricon Glendale 38 (Sydney) - Roof 649Sep 17, 2015 10:46 pm thanks jsmi... I think we will be going with the security doors! Received the blinds quote today $9,500 :O - which includes plantation shutters to the front rooms, and the leisure room highlight window. Rest are mostly double rollers. Is this standard? The company we have asked for a quote apparently have competitive prices. I almost fell off my chair! A bit double minded if we should also have plantation shutters to the family room and dinning room windows Metricon Glendale 38 - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75696&p=1298363#p1298363 Selections: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75696&start=60 Tiles - p25 Re: KDRB Metricon Glendale 38 (Sydney) - Eaves and Rendering 650Sep 17, 2015 10:50 pm We had some work on site this week! Whilst given the great weather - I would have liked more! Had work on Tuesday and today only. Eaves have now been installed. Along with down pipes. Down pipes are white!!! I have read before that these get painted? I would have thought these come in standard colorbond colours. We had selected basalt. A bit bizarre that they paint them :/ (if they do!) I am hoping rendering happens tomorrow - though was meant to last Friday or Monday. Plantation shutters are generally double the price of roller blinds so $8-9k would be my estimate too. Our whole house was under 5k for plantation shutters. It wasn't the look I was going for but couldn't believe how well priced they where.
