So close to handover and you have a Vic PH on Friday and a NSW PH (where my bank cheque will be coming from) on Monday. Very annoying. Re: Our First home, building MainVue Amalfi 530 304Sep 28, 2015 7:26 pm Oh yeah annoying! I reckon cup weekend might muck up my timeline! But like you we have the PH Friday, and our bank is located in SA, who also have a PH on Monday. It seems to be the weekend for PHs. I hope you have no delays with your cheque. We were invoiced for final stage yesterday, so got the ball rolling with the bank today for their final inspection, etc. Building our MainVue Amalfi 530 - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75694 Re: Our First home, building MainVue Amalfi 530 306Sep 30, 2015 10:07 pm kirst81 mlp18 kirst81 NHP has been postponed by one day. Just a case of Fingers crossed that issues discovered at NHP are minor. We may not settle on the same day, but we're going for the same week at least. 😉 Building our MainVue Amalfi 530 - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75694 Re: Our First home, building MainVue Amalfi 530 308Oct 01, 2015 9:21 pm Bank inspection due early next week, plus we've just managed to scrape in for ordering our bank cheque to be ready for next Friday (phew!) I went out today and ordered NEW furniture for most of the house. Can't wait to see it in our place! Also confirmed that our blinds will be installed on Monday 12/10 (day after we move in). Just gotta sort out our exposed aggregate driveway before we organise tackling the tonnes of other things we want to do post-handover. Only 10 days and we're in!!! Have you got any pics of the finished product in your kitchen now the painting around your splash is done? So furious at this! Bloody painter was a joke. Worst of all, our SS sang his praises up to and including during our NHP!! Our square set finish has wobbly lines all over (where the wall paint goes onto the roof, and vice versa). The corners of the roof are beyond disgraceful, they are poorly finished with blobs of paint. The finish in the kitchen is a disgrace. One of our walls in BR2 had only 1 coat of paint on it!!!! WTF!!!!! I'd love to meet this chump and give him a piece of my mind! Pretty unimpressed at the moment. Today was supposed to be NEW HOME PRESENTATION, and instead we cop a paint job clearly done by a bloke who clearly couldn't give a toss. All up, I reckon we applied more than 150 red dots to the house today. We expect that pretty much the entire house will just about need to be re-painted. Feeling really disappointed and let down at the moment. All our plans to move this weekend have now been smashed, and we have to move mid-week next week which means we'll be doing it without help. Building our MainVue Amalfi 530 - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75694 Re: Our First home, building MainVue Amalfi 530 313Oct 05, 2015 3:18 pm Oh no Kirsty how disappointing. To be so close. Make them fix it properly, you're paying enough for it. Did your inspector pick up on the paint issues at PCI?? Fingers crossed for next week. The only positive moving during the week is cheaper removalists. Re: Our First home, building MainVue Amalfi 530 314Oct 05, 2015 3:23 pm Bloody annoying Kirst hope they fix it up for you this week? Any other major issues? Up until this point we've relied on a family member who is a chippie to help guide our process, and up until this moment, all has been ok. We had a rather robust discussion with our SS today about the quality of the paint, referring to the fact that we're using MainVue, not Henley, which is expected to be the higher standard. We've given our expectations, and will not settle/hand over cheque until all of these issues are rectified. How goes your settlement? Has everything gone well for you? Any other major issues? 1. Kitchen island bench may need a panel replaced due to scratching/scuffing/dints that occurred during the build. 2. Brick work needs further treating to remove green & orange spots, as well as ensuring the mortar stain is true off-white 3. Some lights not working, switches missing 4. WIR fit out not installed at all (in fact SS thought we had deleted it) 5. External antenna not installed 6. Did I mention the paintwork is rubbish? 7. some funny stain that has appeared on two of our stone bench tops in the kitchen. 8. Windows need re-adjusting 9. Alfresco doors need adjusting 10. fence needs a clean off (still got excess mortar spray) 11. Some plaster missing above door frame in bathroom (dunno how this was missed!) 12. Various dints and bumps throughout the entire house (which is to be expected) The fact that the paint work was so poor forced us to check everything with a fine tooth comb today. Very disappointed that we had NHP today when these errors were glaring, and should have been sorted out before we attended. Further to it, we've had access to the house consistently, and over the last week or so, it appears next to nothing had been done. Fuming!!! What's the plan now? Will they have to fix it all in the next week? Just feels like a complete lack of care lately. Our SS has promised to have the place fixed this week and we have scheduled now to meet Monday morning for settlement. I will be visiting the place a few more times this week to ensure we are not going to be delayed any further. But to be honest, we don't have a lot of time left. We need to be out of our rental by next Thursday, so things could be cut a little fine. We've had a great experience with our SS up until this point, so we are confident that he will have the issues fixed. We are really crossing our fingers now.
