Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 03, 2015 4:10 pm Hi all, I will buy a corner block and think of building two town houses that my family and my parents to stay close to each other. Can anyone advise me what is the first thing to do? How do you start applying for building permit? How do you know if that block of land is eligible for two town houses. The area for the land: 810 m2 Thank you Re: Need advice to start to build two town houses 2Feb 03, 2015 10:05 pm 1) Check land zoning. 2) Talk to a builder/architect/drafting firm and go from there. If the land isn't zoned appropriately you should look at what it the appropriate zoning for your area, and only look at blocks already zoned as such. Re: Need advice to start to build two town houses 3Feb 03, 2015 10:20 pm Depends where you live as well, and if you're planning on getting a builder or going owner builder. NSW just changed the legislation regarding owner builder permits and dual occupancies are no longer permitted under the permits except for exceptional circumstances. Something to think about.. good luck with the build Re: Need advice to start to build two town houses 4Feb 04, 2015 10:15 am Thank you all.I noticed that area all built with massive single storey houses. I am not sure if you mean this by zoning? I call the shire of that land and they said they can see nothing to stop me applying for the permit to build two town houses as long as the proposal is appropriate to the area - so vague Re: Need advice to start to build two town houses 5Feb 04, 2015 10:26 am Before you get to building permits (which are for compliance with construction codes) you will need to tackle your planning approval (which relates to the use of the land, height of buildings, density etc etc). What state are you in? Small footprint in Eliza Ponds, Spearwood WA Hi, We're building a double-storey in Perth and I'm undecided with the kitchen sink situation. I'm set on having the main sink with dishwasher in the scullery - and… 0 14983 XCEM Alpha flooring seems to relatively new and I could not found any reviews. Have you or someone you know have used it and would recommend over other subfloor options?… 2 5935 2 1241 |
