Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 02, 2015 5:29 pm Hi all Posting a query for a friend building in South West WA. They had PCI last week and basically the house was a right state. Broken floor tiles, scratched toilet seat, tiles without grout in shower and on floor in linen, painting incomplete in cupboards, walls having been patched and badly baldy repainted, and the list goes on... I won’t name the company but basically they were very very upset . When you see photos its amazing it even got past what the building company refers to as their “Management inspection”. Anyway, they used a building inspector (thank goodness) who provided a report. On the day the SS rushed my friends through and said they should only use one list and not have the building inspection list also. They told him they would be using both whether he liked it or not. Anyway, he filled out his list, and my friends got him to add things to it. The following day they received their building inspection report so itemized things in that, plus things they added after being able to get over the shock and have a download the previous evening. Both were emailed to the building company. Has anyone else had a similar experience in that the SS has informed you that you can only use one “list/form” and been confused as to why you’d want to? They are now trying to get action from the Construction Area Manager and will go to the GM if need be but they’ve had a horrible build and a horrible finish… The significant date is when receive final payment invoice Check that section of contract Bit of fluff by builders prior to that 1 15945 There are a lot of private inspectors should have stayed working as tradies!!
