Re: Custom build on 40 acres - We're in! 625Sep 08, 2015 9:49 pm Congratulations MnT.. I bet that bath felt so good!!! Re: Custom build on 40 acres - We're in! 626Sep 10, 2015 9:30 pm Since we really didn't have a full day to move we are still very unorganised, looking forward to the weekend where we will have two full days to finish moving everything in and unpacking. Our first night was a bit of a disappointment, we couldn't find anything, we were very tired, the house was very echoey (is that even a word) especially the living area where the ceiling is raked and we didn't sleep very well (probably something to do with the new unwashed sheets which kept slipping off the bed) but the second night was much better and we slept really well (and changed the sheets), we also put the fire on which felt more homey. Looking forward to bringing in the last of the furniture, getting a rug & putting up some pictures which should help with the sound. The reality of first night in a new home. I'm thinking champagne might help with getting to sleep on the first night. I'm sure it will all seem homely in a month or so. http://www.housebythewater.wordpress.com From blank block to new home in Mandurah, Western Australia. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65564 Re: Custom build on 40 acres - We're in! 629Sep 10, 2015 11:12 pm Congrats on being in MnT! Still enjoying that bath? Yes 90% of our windows are casements, the screens fit on the inside. Here are a few pics, they are quite neat. http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo181/Amberley168/2288F949-636D-459E-941A-CD1A2F9FDFAC_zpslhat7cow.jpg Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Oh and yes, had another bath last night..........soooooo good My build thread: Custom build on 40 acres viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75656 Re: Custom build on 40 acres - We're in! 634Sep 12, 2015 10:10 pm Thanks MnT, we have different mechanism for ours didn't even look at screens before and don't really like them, yours are neater. May just get them as they're provided and figure it out later. I think they are different to ours because your handle moves outside with the window but instead of a handle we have a winder like a awning window. Can the surround come in the same colour as your frame? It might not be as obvious as the black. DH picked up our new outdoor setting yesterday, I can certainly get used to this view. Might look for some cushions for it tomorrow. It looks like the perfect place to end the day. We'll also be unpacking goods stored for 4 years soon - who knows what treasures and complete junk we'll find. Your indoors looks great too, from the peak through the windows in your pic. http://www.housebythewater.wordpress.com From blank block to new home in Mandurah, Western Australia. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65564 Re: Custom build on 40 acres - We're in! 639Sep 13, 2015 10:15 pm I hear the pair of you, have 3+ years of 'treasures' stored ourselves! We watch the lightening crack on the cane fields and laugh and think. This is Australia. Such a Beautiful place you have there!! I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature.
