Most of the concereting is done, just a small section of footpath on the southern side to do. They seem to have done a very neat job with no splashes on the render or windows - that we can see in the dark anyway. Will take some pics on the weekend.
There was a stuff up with the front porch as it ended up too high, we are tiling this section with wood look tiles and the idea was to have the tiled section lower than the bottom of the large reclaimed timber post so it looked like it was floating but instead the concrete meets the bottom of the post even without the tiles we could have dug our heels in and insisted on them ripping it all up and starting again but sometimes you have to pick your battles and decide what really matters and what doesn't so annoyingly we let that one go.
The reason why the southern side footpath was not done is because the house renderers removed the render that was covering the slab installation as it was bubbling. We believe because it was applied when it was wet (it poured that week) and it never properly dried out. So the path can't go in until the render is re-applied. They turned up today to finish the job but (as usual) it started raining so it didn't get done, actually rain is predicted all week
