Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 29, 2015 10:19 am Just want to see if I am not the only one on this and if there's anything I/we could do. My house started around in late August and hasn't had any work done since December. I called them and asked what's going on and was told that there are some management issues and they will 'get back to me asap when there is news'. My progress payment has been paid up to Enclosed Stage. By now, this is the 5th month since building started and come February will be the 6th month, which I doubt it will be completed by then. Has anyone currently building with them been told the same? Re: Is anyone else currently building with Newstart Homes? 3Nov 15, 2015 9:36 pm Hi, just wondering how it all went in the end with Newstart? I'm so sorry it was such a long process. Hi there, sad to say it has been a nightmare with them and never would I recommend them to anyone. We went into construction Feb 2015 but slab was only poured in May. There were a few rain events that made the ground difficult which I agreed so no blames there. From May onwards we had fine weather and up to now our house have not finished construction. We were hoping to move in before Christmas and we should have. Come mid Dec, it would have been 7 months. Now it is expected to finish Feb 2016 just because they will be shut a month for holidays. They have been so slow that even my bank have given me numerous calls to find out about progress payments. And that is bad. This builder lacks the urgency and the site supervisor/ manager lacks the experience. Their personnel turnover is high from what I have heard and experienced with site supervision. It really has been disappointing. Re: Is anyone else currently building with Newstart Homes? 5Apr 05, 2016 6:45 am psjnr flossy17 Hi, just wondering how it all went in the end with Newstart?
