It will result in West facing bedrooms, which is a big no-no, unless you're in a particularly cool climate. I'd prefer to have the western garage, laundry, alfresco, & some living areas if you must. Personally, I don't think either plan makes great use of your north facing rear yard. As Tristanium said, you want to try & have a majority of your living areas face north, not bed 4 & alfresco. Hard to do with a 4 bed place with that block though. Thanks for your input. The reasoning is that the main living spaces will be on the North and East sides.
