Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 22, 2015 9:57 am We are waiting for the CDC approval to come through for our house and today received an email from the builder telling us that the plumber has informed them that they've been to our site and couldn't provide the service protection report for Sydney Water because there were insufficient boundaries marked on our property. We are doing a KDR so we're in an established suburb with a house on the block and (apparently stupidly) assumed that they would take the boundary fences with our neighbours as sufficient boundaries. So now we've been asked to arrange to have our site pegged so they can do this. Does anybody have any experience with this? Is it reasonable to assume that the builder would take care of this? Any idea of the cost involved? I've tried to budget for as many 'extras' that might come up that were forseeable, but having our block pegged was not one of them! I've already contacted a surveying company for a quote but I'd like to hear of any experiences. Fences don't suffice and can often be wrong. We can do them or our builder can on our behalf, either way we have to pay edited to add its costing us $1050 Re: Insufficient boundaries for service protection report 3Jan 22, 2015 10:14 am jessicana10 we are doing a KDR also and also need a boundary survey. I just hope it doesn't delay the CDC by too much longer. We are quite similar, paid our deposit and did our colour selections all last year. We have signed tender and are ready to go but found out we need not only a demo permit and build permit but also a planning permit before all that. Drives me mad. Like you we don't want to knock down before council says ok and over here (vic) orders to abolish power and gas etc can take up to three weeks from time of applying so we have to be a bit organised. KDR is much more complicated than we expected. Re: Insufficient boundaries for service protection report 5Jan 22, 2015 4:31 pm jessicana10 KDR is much more complicated than we expected. Yup. We're happy to move out now, but wanted to put it off for as long as possible. Now I just hope we can get all this done without further delays...
