Half the insulation done today as well. They were all packed up and off site by 3pm and with a public holiday tomorrow I'm guessing that's it until Monday. Our SS did ring and say that plaster is booked for Friday but given it's a holiday and insulation is only half done I doubt it. He also said our kitchen is due to be installed In just under 2 weeks time. Colour choice is lovely too... Re: Henley - Monterey Belle Q2 - KDR 164Oct 01, 2015 7:05 pm Bricks look great Jess! Re: Henley - Monterey Belle Q2 - KDR 166Oct 02, 2015 8:10 pm So our entire house got plastered today. I really wish they did it over two days as it's a pretty rushed **** job. Sorry about these pics they are off my camera screen. The living areas are not too bad but the bedroom wing is pretty sh!t The plastered the pillar between the stackers and between the windows. These are supposed to be timber cladding. Things were going so well until now Re: Henley - Monterey Belle Q2 - KDR 167Oct 02, 2015 8:11 pm On the plus side our one and only Brickie is doing a great job. He only does a little bit each day but I don't care as it looks awesome Re: Henley - Monterey Belle Q2 - KDR 169Oct 02, 2015 8:25 pm Yeah it's nuts that they do it in a day! They will spend another few stopping it all up. Odd about the cavity sliders..... Mines flush. What does your plans show? Maybe rock up with few beers and ask the supervisor nicely what he can do to smoothen it out and make it seemless. He may take a little cash on the side, or may even sort it for a slab? Can't see it being a huge job. Re: Henley - Monterey Belle Q2 - KDR 173Oct 02, 2015 10:04 pm We have only spoken to him twice on the phone and never met him. Hubby doesn't even want to ring him tomorrow as it's grand final day. Might be a Monday phone call. We have a few things to discuss. Also noticed someone hit our front door frame and took a big chunk out of it. Can't believe how careless and slack some tradies are Re: Henley - Monterey Belle Q2 - KDR 174Oct 03, 2015 9:09 am May be time for a meeting with him. Agreed with your husband - I'd wait till Monday. Just stay on his good side and get him to work with ya's. Yeah tradies are wreckless a lot of the time, just raise the issue and it should get sorted. Re: Henley - Monterey Belle Q2 - KDR 175Oct 03, 2015 7:56 pm They came back and did a bit more plastering today. It's looking better but some of the gaps are so big in the corners the cornice may not even cover it, there will barely be anything for the cornice to stick to. Hubby went up and tried to talk to them today but out of 5 guys none seemed to speak English well enough. They just kept saying 'yeah we fix we fix' I'm assuming the insulation will go in the ceiling later on? It's seems like a much harder job to do after plastering??? But it's definitely not up there. We can see through our massive gaps. On of the worst parts was the ensuite shower plaster. It needed to be packed out more but instead they just pushed the plaster in and broke it and then left it. It's on the corner and has a metal strip and plaster on it now but we know the crumbly mess that's underneath. Hubby has photos of it to show the SS This is the hall way - looking a bit better Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Henley - Monterey Belle Q2 - KDR 176Oct 06, 2015 9:02 pm Not much to update, just the Brickie has been on site working away. He seems pretty slow but the bricks look awesome so I'm happy for him to take his time. I may or may not have swept the house and alfresco over the weekend - I can't stand the mess. I can't wait to see what they look like cleaned up. The alfresco is huge! What's it measure? 5x5m? Re: Henley - Monterey Belle Q2 - KDR 180Oct 07, 2015 12:18 pm I had to check the plans as I had no idea of the size. It's 6x4.4 I think it looks big because of the eaves We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 36901 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 18894 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13299 |
