It might help with the colour... H3nl3y KDR Monterey belle q2 week 14 day 95 283Nov 18, 2015 6:10 pm It's grand piano half, it looks more greenish brown white on the card but in the house it looks really yellow. Our carpet is a darkish brown/charcoal colour and timber laminate in a medium brown for the rest Re: H3nl3y KDR Monterey belle q2 week 14 day 95 285Nov 18, 2015 6:15 pm And I think our painter is really particular thank goodness. They patched and sanded the architraves and painted them yesterday and they have re patched them again today. He must not have been happy with the finish. Re: H3nl3y KDR Monterey belle q2 week 14 day 95 286Nov 18, 2015 9:11 pm I think once your floorboards and carpet is in it will look good! I choose hog bristle in half and I think it will look too yellow! Saw a little bit through our window today and didn't like it looks so yellow Re: H3nl3y KDR Monterey belle q2 week 14 day 95 287Nov 20, 2015 4:30 pm Day 4 of painting. Not even close to finished. Only ceiling and doors and architraves done and one coat on walls. Still need to finish staining timber Windows and doors, 2 more coats on walls. Eaves, and porch and alfresco ceiling habe only been cut In. Inside garage and all outside painting still need to be done Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: H3nl3y KDR Monterey belle q2 week 14 day 95 288Nov 20, 2015 8:45 pm jessicana10 It's grand piano half, it looks more greenish brown white on the card but in the house it looks really yellow. Our carpet is a darkish brown/charcoal colour and timber laminate in a medium brown for the rest Wouldn't worry about the color, we used the same and it seems to be very neutral and therefore versatile color. Our colors are lighter than yours (carpet and laminate) and this may impact the paint color, however, your guess is as good as mine. ------------------------------------------- Build Thread - Mainvue Emporio ER430 KDR https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76790&p=1332227&hilit=mainvue#p1332227 H3nl3y KDR Monterey belle q2 week 15 289Nov 21, 2015 4:12 pm The painters were working away today and thank goodness we seem to have fantastic painters. So far they have done a great job. The kids bedrooms and study look finished and the colour looks better and not yellow now. The eaves and porch and alfresco roof were done today also. Not sure if it's one or two coats here but looks good. So just the main parts of the house to be done and finish the timber staining now. Build day 99 today! Things like an entire wall of broken bricks used in the garage - which I don't understand as we have heaps of left over bricks Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Also on the porch the beading doesn't cover the gap between the plaster and the bricks, hard to see in the photos but the bricks are a few mm short of the beading all around the roof line of the porch Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I'm guessing they will just caulk it up or something. They don't quite get it. One day we had a house then we knocked it down and now we are getting a new one. One of my twins said "we have been living at grandmas so Long now we might as well Just live here now" Um no! lol Our kitchen sink has gone missing too? Would it go to the bench top place to get fitted to that or just walkabout? Re: H3nl3y KDR Monterey belle q2 week 15 293Nov 21, 2015 6:04 pm Our kitchen sink isnt in and we have stone installed.. Is yours an undermount? Maybe they do something special.. We had a door stolen! So who knows.. a sink is worth more than a 90 dollar door Our build - MainVue Amalfi 428 - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75482 Re: H3nl3y KDR Monterey belle q2 week 15 294Nov 21, 2015 7:08 pm Yeah it's undermount and it was a $1200 sink! - hope it wasn't stolen, easy though seen as though we have so many doors not even on the hinges at the moment Re: H3nl3y KDR Monterey belle q2 week 15 295Nov 21, 2015 11:33 pm I'd say its gone as they fit the sink in the home. Not surprised things go missing, given anyone can basically walk in and out as they please. ------------------------------------------- Build Thread - Mainvue Emporio ER430 KDR https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76790&p=1332227&hilit=mainvue#p1332227 Re: H3nl3y KDR Monterey belle q2 week 15 296Nov 23, 2015 6:23 pm Painters still going - 7 days in a row and still not finished. The paint is looking pretty good though. The meter box was painted and just makes the d@dgy mortar around it looks worse. I don't think they intend on fixing this even though we have asked. Got a phone call from SS today and he's not happy with us for requesting an independent building inspection. We don't want to upset him but we want to make sure our build is ok too. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: H3nl3y KDR Monterey belle q2 week 15 297Nov 23, 2015 6:41 pm Definitely get the independent inspection. SS can't stop you! Your front missing window is exactly like my dining window was throughout the whole build. Only got fixed right at the end. Fingers crossed they fix the mortar etc. Re: H3nl3y KDR Monterey belle q2 week 15 298Nov 23, 2015 6:44 pm Really he was openly unhappy? No wonder our ss just stopped answering the phone haha. Paint lookin good! The window will prolly be replaced at the end when A&L come nack to service them... thats what our ss said to us because we are having a scratched window replaced. After handover you could prolly paint the meterbox a lighter color that matches your bricks instead.. it doesnt look too bad though Our build - MainVue Amalfi 428 - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75482 Re: H3nl3y KDR Monterey belle q2 week 15 299Nov 23, 2015 6:57 pm Yes he was very unhappy and even told hubby that he was going to try and get us in before x. Mas but he's not now. The window glass isn't broken just the hinges need replacing. I don't think our SS has realised our sink has gone missing yet so he probably doesn't think it's important that the house is never locked up. He will have to have it locked up tight over that 4 week x mas break! I was pretty happy with things until today, now I'm pretty annoyed and we are not that upset about not being in before x mas - certainly not enough to be blackmailed by it Re: H3nl3y KDR Monterey belle q2 week 15 300Nov 23, 2015 6:59 pm That sucks!!
