Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 19, 2015 2:14 pm I have a issue with my kitchen ceiling. the height of my ceilings are 2700 in my house which is good. In our tender it has a drop of 150mm in the kitchen, but we had our walk through with the builder and we pointed out there was no dropped ceilings. So long story short my options are. 1. leave the ceilings as is and the building will cover the cost to extend the height of my cupboards, bulkhead at 300mm 2. drop the ceiling and leave the height of my cupboards at 2200mm which will give me a 350 bulk head. 3. drop the ceiling and from 2700mm to 2550mm raise my cuboards to 2400mm and have a bulkhead of 150mm. So based on that, my personal approach would probably be to just raise the tops of the cupboards up to 2400 or 2500 and leave the ceiling as it is. Re: Kitchen CeiIing Issues 6Nov 19, 2015 7:25 pm Yep Go higher cupboards at builders cost. Although the usable space will be high the less used items can live there. Re: Kitchen CeiIing Issues 7Nov 19, 2015 10:42 pm Definitely go the higher ceilings - I have mine right to the ceiling - great storage and it looks wonderful !! My idea!!!
