I would not have thought to look there! Re: Cara and Matt's First Build - Baldivis 504Feb 02, 2016 10:52 pm archetto ^^^ they are really lovely too will be concreting our second driveway Pool looks lovely and big! What wood are you using on the deck? How handy are carpenter partners haha Thank you archetto Re: Cara and Matt's First Build - Baldivis 505Feb 02, 2016 10:53 pm Caraf88 Thanks Gilbert, will keep in mind for when we do get some quotes. Funds are tight at the moment. Archetto, we are using Eco Decking. I didn't want the hassle of having to oil the deck, nails showing and chance of splinters. Eco is just maintainence free although does cost more than jarrah or merabu. Our dream home viewtopic.php?t=75306 No problem at all Cara Re: Cara and Matt's First Build - Baldivis 506Feb 04, 2016 9:08 pm We had handover today, it's 7pm at the moment and the guy has been here since 4. He was meant to be here for 1 but he was delayed, all good though he's very helpful to us newbie pool owners. He said we have an amazing system that will save us heaps of money long term and pretty much does the work for us. Bad news - our pool is out by 23mm. So on Monday all 30,000 litres is being drained to re-level the pool We then have to re-fill it. I'm thinking of asking freedom pools to compensate us 30,000 litres on our water bill. But have to check the contract first. Here's an update photo now of the pool, it's getting cleaned at the moment, so glad we upgraded to two lights on the side of the pool. Shame about having to drain the pool, did that happen when it was filled? They really should pay for the water for sure. Re: Cara and Matt's First Build - Baldivis 509Feb 04, 2016 11:01 pm It happened when the bobcat guys placed the pool in, it was all level but now that the pool is settled its a little out. A picture at night now Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our dream home viewtopic.php?t=75306 Building our first home - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75306 Re: Cara and Matt's First Build - Baldivis 511Feb 04, 2016 11:08 pm Haha the boys were so excited. We are able to swim in it over the weekend until the pool gets drained. on Monday Our dream home viewtopic.php?t=75306 Building our first home - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75306 Re: Cara and Matt's First Build - Baldivis 512Feb 04, 2016 11:15 pm Nice looking pool! What a pain to have to drain all that water! Did they do pencil compaction afterwards? Once that's done, the pool will be ready for some serious fun! Cara and Matt's First Build - Baldivis 516Feb 12, 2016 10:04 pm Good news our pool didn't need to be emptied as it was only a little out of level on one side so the pool was jacked up and it's all level now. Pencil compaction was to happen yesterday but as we aren't home we haven't seen it yet. Pool shell, Plumber, electrician and handover was all done within 8 days. We aren't getting the wet deck now until we are home. So the pool is all complete, we just put carpet down around the pool for now to reduce sand going into the pool but hopefully our pool cover comes soon. Now it's saving for the flooring to go around it, air conditioning and the decking in our alfresco. Lots of jealousy and only hope we can get in our pool before hot days disappear! Our Redink build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81681 Re: Cara and Matt's First Build - Baldivis 518Feb 13, 2016 6:21 pm Looks great Cara, how nice to be able to use it!! Love the colour Re: Cara and Matt's First Build - Baldivis 520Apr 01, 2016 10:03 am So we had the sand compaction done around our pool area and there's still a truck load of sand that needs to go. So we had to contact the pool company and we are awaiting the contractor to book in a date to go back and take the heap of sand. We also got the pool cover delivered and is on the pool so hopefully that saves us some money on filling the pool up. At the moment we are just saving away for the limestone, decking and air con.
