Are you engaging an independent building inspector?
I'm not sure. Would like to know what others think about it.
We are still pondering that one.

Anyone wanna share some idea about the floor plan? Hey, We have done the same. We put a deposit down on the Newport 361. Where abouts are you building? Did you grab one of the options booklets with standard floor plan changes? Here is a list of the changes we are making: Ashmond Facade 2nd WIR to master (we are also adding a bath and making non standard changes to the ensuite) Changing the 3 bedrooms across the back to 2 and giving both WIRs Walk in pantry and reducing linen to a standard size (option 1 in the option book) Removing the wall in the kitchen/dining/family room Side entry stairs Under Stair Storage Rather than an L bench in the kitchen. Extending bench return, having a 90mm gap and turning the return into an island bench Our block is 16m so we are extending the garage by 2m to fill the block That is the main changes. Regards, Jeff Re: Who's building with Fairhaven Homes in Melbourne? 24Dec 16, 2015 4:53 pm Hi Jeff We are building at Craigieburn Vic. We made a few changes based on the options booklet. Here are the main ones: Lancaster facade Walk in pantry option 2 Under stair storage Side entry stairs Increased master bedroom Land settlement is expected to be in Feb/Mar 2016. Cheers Re: Who's building with Fairhaven Homes in Melbourne? 25Dec 17, 2015 2:01 pm chsua10 Hi Jeff We are building at Craigieburn Vic. We made a few changes based on the options booklet. Cheers Thats pretty close to getting underway. Very exciting, I am very interested to hear how you get along. I like your options choices. Are you making any non standard changes, we have found Fairhaven much more willing to accommodate non standard changes than any of the other builders. Unfortunately we are looking at a land settlement date in Feb/March 2017. We have yet to receive final pricing but it is about $8,500. I am still yet to hear back about getting a roller door at the back as well. Re: Who's building with Fairhaven Homes in Melbourne? 29Dec 21, 2015 8:28 am erangaj We chose 4 bedroom layout instead of 5. Moved the under stair storage door to enter from the garage. Quay facade, walk in pantry. I like your choices there. I was going to ask about having the entrance to the under stairs in the garage and I am very happy to hear you can. I was told I am the first one to move the under stairs storage door. Very happy to know I am not alone. You can delete the tiles of under stairs storage and save some money too. Thanks Re: Who's building with Fairhaven Homes in Melbourne? 33Feb 10, 2023 10:23 pm I wouldn’t build with Fairhaven, they are absolutely unreliable, after 1 year our house is still not finished. Management are leading us on from 1 week to another, excuses for everything. Making promises, but never keeping them, we never get straight answer, management and staff at the office are rude, communication non existent and lots of their staff resigning and not really doing their job. Their sales representative was the only nice person from the whole company. We are looking to do a KDR with fairhaven homes, Have seen plenty of good reviews about them pre construction and plenty of negative reviews about them during contruction… 0 14321 May I ask why you chose not to use GJ Gardiner? I'm actually meeting with one of the sales guys tomorrow for an appointment. Definitely not signing anything yet… 3 9558 wondering anyone built with omaxe homes and care to share their experiences. thanks 0 8832 |
