Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 12, 2015 9:23 am I begin my post thanking Homeone forum members and their blogs for their innumerable ideas, wise suggestions and most importantly the willingness to help fellow members. Really excited to begin our journey of building our home (Henley's Lexington Lux Q2 @ Cranbourne East). Our's is a 16X32 site with 0.49mm fall. Henley is doing a fixed site cost (17,218 incl. OHNS). House: Lexington Lux Q2 (Broadway Facade with Option 2 Render) Upgrades: 1) Zoning of ducted heating - $2,227 2) Luxury electrical Upgrade - $3,165 3) Tap water provision for fridge - $141 4) Safety lock for ensuite, Powder & bathroom - $84 5) Extra powerpoints 5 - $275 Colors:- We are finding it really hard to put together all our choices in imagination and visualise how it's going to look. Exterior: We are deliberating between 1) Biscotti and 2) Truffle scheme. Keen to hear from anyone who has gone for these schemes and their thoughts. We paid our deposit of $650 yesterday and waiting for admin to be allocated. Exciting times.... The colour selection nearly did my head in. We didn't go with a scheme in the end but out of all of them Truffle and Biscotti were our favourites as we want the dark colour wood stain. The colour selection nearly did my head in. We didn't go with a scheme in the end but out of all of them Truffle and Biscotti were our favourites as we want the dark colour wood stain. I think truffle was the one we preferred. That's good to hear. May I know what your internal selections were? Wall color, splashback, bench top, etc? Our color selection is scheduled for the 5th of Feb. So, really pushing hard to do all selection prior to that Got an email from sales consultant who has managed to get a Double glazing for all windows free of cost So, that's a good thing ! We have signed tender but are waiting for a planning permit from council to knock down our exisitng house before we sign contracts. We will hopefully build the monterey belle Q2 - (with additions) Our colours from memory are: walls - grand piano half trims and doors - natural white Benchtop - ice snow ( i think? its a white one anyway) cupboards - licorice linea (in kicthen, bathrooms and laundry) overheads - fossil gloss Splash back - Gnu tan Tiles - walls are white gloss 300x450 cat 1, floor and bath hobs are bluestone olive grey 300x600 gloss cat 2 Timber stain - dark chocolate Roof/gutters etc - colourbond monument Bricks - Austral Hawthorn cat 4 windows - black Render - Gnu tan floors we are doing after hand over (oak floorboards and carpet) We changed some of our selections too, we signed tender version 4, so dont worry if you cant make all the big decisions on the day. I found the bathroom tiles hardest to choose on the spot. One of my friend had the Austral truffle bricks with off white mortar and their house look stunning. All the best for your colour selection. The warning is on the sticker on the door too.
