We wouldn't blame the patient for not researching that the medication is the right one or the right dose.
Or expect the patients medical insurance to not cover costs of treatment.
The doctor and the pharmacist are the professionals and the insurer covers medical treatment as per their policy.
How many people are trusting of professionals with their health and don't check for mistakes?? (from my experience in health care: many ) so why do we expect the onus on building to be on the owner when the onus on personal health is not?
In other words, even if the building is grossly mis- built, I dont think it is the responsibility of the owner.
I agree with TDL, however, that this is different from unexpected costs or problems because of assuming things would be done a preferred way that is not a structural issue.
Really? So you're saying independant building inspections are a waste of time and money?
My quick scan of the forum has revealed quite a few people have gotten independant building inspections. And all them are glad they did.
Are you saying they shouldn't have?
