Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 07, 2015 7:11 pm I have been lurking around for a while. In 2012 we decided that it was time for our own home, however titles of our first block of land did not release so after 12 months we did use the sunset clause to get out of the contract. Now, 1,5 years later, it looks like the titles of our "second" block will finally be released. We are so over the buying untitled land situation! Never again!
On the other side we are extremely happy with our builder the GJ's (Gardner) and we locked in a fixed pricing contract in May 2014. All our selections are done and plans are finalised so we are ready when the land is. Our block 540m2, in the Macedon Ranges (VIC): Re: Our house in the middle of our street 2Jan 07, 2015 8:58 pm Gorgeous spot!! I remember camping at Mount Macedon as a kid - always poured!! Re: Our house in the middle of the street _ selections 7Jan 20, 2015 8:12 am This is the plan we came up with, note en-suite layout is not correct and has been changed and WC + window in WC are centered now We had to increase the size of our house due to building regulations, as a result we gained an extra 60 cm in the center of our house. so 60 cm larger kitchen, alfresco, Bed 2. Although we used some of the extra 60 cm from Bed 2 to increase the WC, so that we could fit a hand basin. For the exterior we have picked these: House will be build in the light bricks with a feature pillar in the black bricks. We will have green cladding and a green front door, dark roof, white window frames. For the interior we did select these: Tiles throughout the entire house except bedrooms, same tiles on the wall of our en-suite (fully tiled). Kitchen all, white with blue splash back. Grey cabinets (with some pattern) for laundry, en-suite and bathroom, light top for the bathroom and en-suite and the dark (river pebble) one for the laundry. Re: Our house in the middle of the street _ selections 8Feb 03, 2015 10:00 pm Very interesting combination Dutch! The green is looking great together with the brick you have chosen. I'm looking forward to see it all coming together! All the cladding in front of Bed 1 and the front door will be green Ah well, we can always pick up the paintbrush and repaint it.
