Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Mojo Homes 1142Nov 22, 2017 5:51 am Nabrolkellyville Building in Kellyville Ridge and the last theee weeks has only seen delays because of backorders on tiles and PC items. Went past the site and no trades on a Monday a few weeks before practical completion!! Spoke to the SS and he says all mojo jobs have had tile delays! That is not saying much about their planing process when I selected my tiles almost a year ago!! Anyone else facing delays with tiles/PC items (bath, WC) Hi there, we are your neighbours a few houses down, building with champion homes, have you been given a pc and handover date yet? Re: Mojo Homes 1143Dec 09, 2017 6:02 pm HLC333 Looking good though. Hope build continues this good! Mines on track for feb handover Few pics of tiling... Lots of staff on leave, including Damon! How quick did you guys get pre handover defects done (talking from insection to handover?) BIG BIG thank you to Eden from DIY blinds online. Great help, their plantation shutters DO clear the winder on those Large study awning windows and the price was too good to not give them a go! James Re: Mojo Homes 1145Jan 08, 2018 2:57 pm We have a new SS again ha ha even though both Damon & Tim were great... fingers crossed old mate is as good as those 2... You are the second person to have positive feedback about DIY Blinds online. I think i'll be hitting them up when the time comes. Sooner rather than later.... We got to lockup by Xmas, with all carpentry done as well as waterproofing, EXCEPT STAIRS. They were booked for 19.12.17 (at least that's what i was told), but have not happened. We also had an error with our plastering where they went to fit cornices, when we had paid for the whole house (except garage/alfresco) to be square set. So we had a small delay there. Anyway, i need this place done by April/May at the latest.... hurry up! ha ha James, do you have a photo of your bathroom floor? We have specced the same pane of glass for the shower, but they have put a metal hob running the length of where the shower would be. I wasn't expecting a hob to go beyond the pane of glass? Re: Mojo Homes 1146Jan 08, 2018 10:03 pm Hey HLC Mine are a little different because Mojo allowed me as a one off to tile my own. I run my own tiling company. At tender time this is what I negotiated, worked in both our favours. Although it looked like it wasn't going to happe at one point.... 1. They don't have to worry about getting complaints about poor or noncompliant works. 2. No delays. 3. No Defects to worry about 4. Liability is worn by my company for wet areas.. Managed to do kitchen splashbacks today. Happy with result but wish I was a little braver in choosing something with more contrast. I guess the kettle and toaster will have to be flashy . I wanted a copper metallic 400x75 with random set Out but the wife wanted something a little "european"... Probably end up changing those overhead cupboard doors after handover... Too much gloss! Loving the blue, black and grey tones. Once handover is here the challenge will be to get a quote from landscapers for a fence, retaining wall and driveway! And have them actually do the work before christmas! What are your thoughts now that your build is nearing completion? Any feedback/photos you have would be great. cheers Re: Mojo Homes 1150Feb 05, 2018 4:59 pm Supercharged Synergy Hey ja-mez we're seriously considering the Enigma 41 in Hebel with colorbond. What are your thoughts now that your build is nearing completion? Any feedback/photos you have would be great. cheers The colorbond was a choice of ours due to the recent kellyville storms. Many residents suffering damaged internals but CB roofs only damaged aesthetically. Was about 5k extra and with the drastic weight deducting and reduction in thermal absorption v concrete roof tiles it was a no brainer for us. I think it was between 5-6k including anticon. Plus I love the sound of rain on a "tin" roof. The CB roof went on in 2 days with no delays... It looks tidy.. The only negative is it will heat up quicker.. But we intent to put op 7.53kw of solar panels on the NW side anyway! Will post more pics later but if you go back through this thread I've posted plenty. Cheers James Re: Mojo Homes 1151Feb 06, 2018 5:44 am Sorry I didn't address the Hebel. We are super happy with it and it's thermal performance. They have had to repair a few spots where scaffolding and window installers damaged the Hebel and it looks fine you can't tell it's been patched. Well someone in the industry can but most wouldn't know. With work I'm involved in alot of eco friendly builds and I'm happy to say that from all reports I've read it is the cleaner (environmentally) product. Along with Colorbond. The real question is how will it hold up in comparison to a brick veneer home. I've seen some 1950s brick veneer so well done they will easily outlast the next generation... and I've seen some brick veneers poorly done which made me think I'd rather a rendered finish regardless of brick or hebel. Hide the poor workmanship! I will say that the administration side of Mojo was long and disjointed due to staff reshuffling, if you read this thread you will see that theme. Our build has been good. The usual stuff ups here and there. Nothing worth complaining about.. It's been very quiet In here lately and I believe that's because most people are also on the FB group which I'm not.. it's just an easier portal to navigate and communicate! I see plenty of Mojo homes going up and I can't speak highly enough of my SS Damon. I will say the only issue we have with our enigma 39 (which is about 42ish after the changes) is that the master bedroom needs to be deeper. At only 3.7 deep it can get very squishy if you intend on having a dresser or tallboy in the room. I'm really happy that we deleted the bath in the End and created a walk in linen. Our Ens is huge! We are using the 5th bed as an ironing and coats store so our Walk in should suffice sans tallborly or dresser.. now someone tell that to my wife ... It's early days for me but so far Mojo has been on point with everything up until now. Thanks for the info on Hebel I've done my homework and I'm pretty much sold on it. The question I have is, is the R2.0 insulation still used along with the wall wrap? I assume it is. Did you have the option of the Hebel powerfloor? The coastal/grande facade looks fantastic too. If anything I would make the balcony a little deeper. Thanks for your help! No insulation to garage external walls Did you have the option of the Hebel powerfloor? Wasn't an option at the time.i would go with this if it is now available. The coastal/grande facade looks fantastic too. If anything I would make the balcony a little deeper. Depending on you FSR. Our balcony is quite deep will post a pic for you later Thanks for your help! See answers Re: Mojo Homes 1154Feb 06, 2018 8:21 am Yeah I'm actually basing my thoughts on the Melody/Coastal facade on display at Oran Park. Perhaps the Enigma/Coastal is wider? I saw your balcony pic from construction there is defo more width from what I can see. If you have some more recent pics that would be great. Re: Mojo Homes 1155Feb 19, 2018 3:35 pm Hi all, Just a question, it appears we have to change the type of glass in our bathrooms, apparently going DA you can't have clear but going CDC you can (go figure). Anyway, does anyone have photos of the type of toughened obscure glass they use which they could share? Thanks Re: Mojo Homes 1156Feb 19, 2018 3:56 pm onggie Hi all, Just a question, it appears we have to change the type of glass in our bathrooms, apparently going DA you can't have clear but going CDC you can (go figure).
