Re: Mojo Homes 108Jan 22, 2016 4:43 am CharlieMojo No takers?? Please don't let my user name dissuade you - totally a coincidence!! We are currently in the process of organising a tender with Mojo Homes and wanted to get some feedback as we can't find any info on the internet (I understand they are a newer builder associated with McDonald Jones Homes). Hi , we have just cancelled job with Mojo due to many mistakes and delays. We lost confident and trust. After 7 month of accepting Tender and 6 months since we payed $3000 deposit our contract is not even ready yet ( not our fault) Very disappointed. Looking for other builder at this moment . Hope your journey will be different. Good luck !!! ____________________________ Deposit paid 7 July 2015 Plans received 29/09/2015 ( draft only) Land registered 8/09/2015 Settled on land 22/09/2015 Plans to council - not submit ( contract not ready) Re: Mojo Homes 109Jan 22, 2016 5:00 am lalou i didn't realise the bit about the tender interest. i thought once we signed the construction contract the price was fixed. if you're still on the hook for tender interest how do you make sure that it's not still mojo slowing the process down and delaying the start of construction and costing you money that way? agreed with others who say that none of the delays so far have been down to us!! Hi very disappointed with Mojo. Just cancelled job with them. Our Tender will expired in March. Not contract has been sign yet ( not our fault ) after 6.5 months of paying deposit. Good luck. Re: Mojo Homes 110Jan 22, 2016 5:05 am Leelee79 I'm so sorry you are going through this. Thought it was only us. Our very first appointment was on early October and we are still waiting in our consolidation tender. They keep telling me we will be onsite in June. Lol doubt it!!!! Still no colour selection appointment even though I asked them to accept my external colours now so it can go to council. Well no luck with a reply for that question. I'm overly invested emotionally. It's the only plan in 18 months that I love. So we are riding it out aswell. Their communication is very poor. Left a message a week ago as I found an error on my plans but no call back yet so I'll wait and see if they pick it up for the final tender. We are saying we'd be lucky if we were in by march next year. We have sold and are now renting till completion. Where are you building ??? Hi there how did you go with Mojo? We have just pull off everything after 6 month after paying deposit. Our contract is not even ready yet. Tender expired date March. We been told that the will be ready in time to start construction . Seriously ?! Re: Mojo Homes 111Jan 22, 2016 5:13 am kays_first_home Hi guys, my husband and I are looking into Mojo homes to build on a block of land we have purchased at Chisholm in Newcastle. The service we have received so far has been amazing and can't fault it. We got our tender back in 4 days and just had a meeting with the sales consultant even though he is technically on holidays for the xmas shut down! We love the level of inclusions and value for money but being they are so new there isn't a lot of feedback yet. We are considering going with them but just so unsure. We only finished building our first home on the central coast 7 months ago with Beechwood which came with typical build and communication problems. Hubby REALLY doesn't want to go with them so hence we are looking at other builders. Can anyone shed some light on them and if they have started building yet? Hi, did you decide to go with Mojo Homes? ( hope not) Re: Mojo Homes 112Jan 22, 2016 6:33 am Firstbuild1 kays_first_home Hi guys, my husband and I are looking into Mojo homes to build on a block of land we have purchased at Chisholm in Newcastle. Hi, did you decide to go with Mojo Homes? ( hope not) Actually we didn't we got too good of a deal and discount with beechwood so we decided to go with them. So disappointing for you! I'm building Zumba 26 with a separate Granny Flat at the back of the property. My journey started back in September 2015 - the Salesperson was awesome, he understood what we needed and advised what we can do (especially with the granny flat). Since then, the process has been a bit of a rollercoaster. The pre-colour appoint was ok, we received the "folder", however, upon request for additional info or pricing, the response time wasn't too quick for my liking. A bit of 'prodding' helped get the info I needed. We had to make a few revisions with the plans and our CLO was and has been very patient with us. I understand they're obviously dealing with other clients, however, they're always willing to speak to you over the phone and I've found this the most effective way to resolving issues. The prelim appoint was at the end of Oct 2015. The colour appointment (early Dec 2015) was an eye opener for us. I thought we were prepared and that we wouldn't use the full 6 hour appointment. I was so wrong, as every intricate detail about the house needed to be selected. The Interior Design was amazing and it was certainly the best experience with Mojo to date. Certainly recommend coming prepared, but come with the expectation of making additional decisions. At this stage, we're waiting for contracts/final plans to be completed by the end of this week, along with land registration, which is due in a few weeks time. Fingers crossed, construction can happen sometime in March. Re: Mojo Homes 114Feb 10, 2016 2:37 pm Hi Anyone here building a Soho 39, need some idea what did the tender come in at without too many mods. I'm thinking about going with the Soul as well. Base price is $322,800.00 plus site costs. My site costs came to about $44K. Re: Mojo Homes 118Feb 16, 2016 2:04 am I'm not sure. This is my first time building. I think my block is pretty good. Only about 1m fall over the block, standard amount of piering. I do have saline affected soil but that didn't add too much to the cost. Total price is still very resonable for the house size I believe. Re: Mojo Homes 120Feb 16, 2016 2:08 am tuckems Oh I forgot to add that the $44K includes my basix as well Ah does this include the "fixed price site costs" and "statutory requirements" too? If that's the case, it's not too shabby! What was your BASIX? We are awaiting land to get our report done!
