In the last week I have been sent no less than ten (10) copies of our specification trying to get it right before we sign on the dotted line. Throughout this the pricing has gone up and down like a yo-yo with up to $10k variance due to lack of attention to detail and poor administration. Today I get a phone call to say somewhere, some how, the peiring costs ($6,650) has been omitted and as such need to be added back in.....even though this cost has been omitted from the signed Consolidated tender and every version of our Specification since, including doucments we were previously given with a contract ready to sign, which we were planning on signing, but we had to delay contract signing due to family medical reasons. Since then we have been through our colours selection process etc and have had that all wrapped up into our contract so the spec has been updated since. Has anyone else had this issue? A clear error by the builder / estimator and not a client error. As such, I think the builder should own this error and therefore the costs associated. Thoughts? Who is your client relations representative ? Re: Mojo Homes 1203Jun 02, 2019 10:11 pm Littlegem We had similar issues. Admin is poor. Who is your client relations representative ?[/quote] Poor is putting it very kindly I feel. Thankfully I am dealing direct with our area manager (Hunter) which seems to be helping get things clear up but that doesn't make up for the endless mistakes and poor attitude from some staff. I wont post names on here, have sent you a PM. cheers Pok Re: Mojo Homes 1204Jun 05, 2019 11:19 am We have the coastal facade. They re-did it once as it was out by 20mm. Our paintwork is crap and is on the defect list. We have brown paint all over the white walls, and parts of the timber slats have no paint. Our edges are better than yours, but not perfectly straight. Re: Mojo Homes 1205Jun 05, 2019 11:25 am Does anyone have a contact at Mojo for defects? We lodged our defect list last year and were surprised when they came out just before Christmas to inspect. Mojo agreed to all defects, and we had guys come and start the repairs mid January. Now 6 months on we still have walls that were sanded and prepped waiting to be painted. The only action we have had on the defect list has been when I got the poops and went to council to arrange the Final Occupancy Inspection and found out that we didnt even have the interim. Mojo jumped on that one quickly as it was their lack of response to the certifier that was the reason. I email Mojo, but I get no response. How long did others defects take to be completed? What area are you in? Re: Mojo Homes 1210Sep 29, 2019 9:33 am Here you go Voz. This was the document we were given back in March. We are located in the Hunter Valley so not sure if that changes anything. Hopeless document with so many mistakes; had to write up a huge list of corrections every time. Close to finalising. How are you all travelling with your build? Any word of caution from anyone throughout the process? Thanks in advance for sharing! Re: Mojo Homes 1214Nov 26, 2019 1:12 pm Hi, Can someone advice how the NBN connection will work. Mojo says they will provide the connection upto the house. But how or rather who will wire the NBN box that will be located inside the house. Wouldn't that mean drilling into the walls again?? But how or rather who will wire the NBN box that will be located inside the house. Wouldn't that mean drilling into the walls again?? Assuming the NBN connection is Fibre-To-The-Premises (FTTP) - Once the NBN Co contractors have installed an NBN PCD (external fibre junction box) on the outside wall of your property, you will be notified that you are able to connect to the NBN. You then need to contact an NBN Service Provider and sign up for an NBN service plan. They will organise for the new internal NBN equipment to be installed in your home. Once the NBN internal equipment has been installed, you are ready to go. You just connect an NBN compatible router to the Uni-D1 port of the new NBN equipment. My builder provided NTD as well, so it was much easier. In your case, I suggest you go with established provider like Telstra, Optus, TPG as their contractors will do a good job on the inside cabling. Re: Mojo Homes 1218Nov 27, 2019 3:53 pm From 1 April 2016, the $300 New Development Fee is charged for all nbn™ broadband connections in the following circumstances: The first connection at a premises in a newly developed area i.e. a suburb with no pre-existing telecommunications infrastructure. All new NBN connections are required to pay this $300 (Telstra/Optus will include this in first invoice). This amount has to be paid only once per property. It has to be paid even if your builder provided all connections/equipments (like my case) Re: Mojo Homes 1220Nov 29, 2019 7:57 am voz Thanks but I was asking about the FTTP "inside" connection as per the diagram in the thread above. Mojo are not doing the box in my garage so I want to know how much would it cost. Thanks All that is covered under the $300 New Development Fee. Check with Telstra / Optus if 5G is available in your area...that technology is the future and could make NBN irrelevant.
