He also talked us out of a timber reveal for the garage door. Spoke to the garage door supplier and they will install a fabricated seal for the garage door. My husband hates dust, insects and vermin and is trying to reduce their entry points to the garage. Lynne Re: Custom build in Dubbo, NSW 22Apr 09, 2015 9:40 pm oooh looks great! The colours are very similar to what we have done. As for the fabricated seal for the garage door that sounds perfect. Is there a special terminology for it? Re: Custom build in Dubbo, NSW 23Apr 10, 2015 4:01 pm yvonneh oooh looks great! The colours are very similar to what we have done. As for the fabricated seal for the garage door that sounds perfect. Is there a special terminology for it? Thanks yvonneh. It's a seal that the garage door will close against on both sides rather than just the bricks. The chipie thought the timber would eventually rot and suggested something else. We also need to decide what we want to have on our dutch gable. Chipie suggested Hardiplank Weatherboard which we have seen and like. Probably go for the Rusticated profile which resembles timber. They will still need to come back at a later stage and construct a letterbox, but they don't want to do it now in case someone reverses into it. Lynne Re: Custom build in Dubbo, NSW 24Apr 12, 2015 4:06 pm Came across to have a sticky beak at your build after talking wall wrap with you. Great layout and nice colour palette! Looks great. Re: Custom build in Dubbo, NSW 33May 05, 2015 10:42 pm Hi Lynne, I found your page looking for photos of the black and tan bricks. Exciting to see a fellow Dubbo poster! My husband and I are currently in the process of finalising the plans for our first home Love the look of your build, hope it goes smoothly for you, I will be following with interest Re: Custom build in Dubbo, NSW 34May 06, 2015 6:09 pm Thanks +mrsC+. I'm looking forward to following your build. Whereabouts in Dubbo are you building? Stormwater pipes were installed today and excavation started for the shed slab. The tilers also started but I haven't taken any pics as most are covered up for protection. The floors have been covered up with protective plastic and carpet so nothing to show unfortunately, but very appreciative of the tilers taking extra care of our tiles. The ensuite wall tile is the same but in landscape. Re: Custom build in Dubbo, NSW 38May 20, 2015 6:02 pm Week 13 since slab was poured! Water tank is in, storm water & sewage is connected and main living areas are being tiled. The bathroom tiles look great now that they are grouted. Only issue is 1 wall tile which has a scratch. Will bring it up with the tilers later as I don't want to bother them. Fortunately it's not in a waterproofing area so no concerns about damaging the membrane if it requires replacing. Door company called today to confirm our entry door and sliding door handle choices. Rain last night which turned the freshly trenched soil to mush so the shed guys are coming Monday to start constructing the shed. This is going rather quick! Lynne Re: Custom build in Dubbo, NSW 39May 21, 2015 4:00 pm Dropped by and got a pic of the floor tile progress. Can't speak highly enough of our tilers! The stacked dark tiles are for the alfresco and verandah. Our builder also recessed the sliding door to alfresco which removes that lip you have to step over when exiting.
