Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Custom build in Dubbo, NSW 42Jun 07, 2015 8:58 am Thank you +mrsC+. We are building in South Lakes. My parents live in Delroy Park so we drive around The Outlook often. Beautiful area! Eventually got the shed done and just need to finish the plumbing to the water tank. My husband is complaining on how long things take him. He's been working on the plumbing for a day and a half and a plumber would have done it in hours! I suspect he is chatting to the new neighbour more often than working. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Painters started last week on the prep work and should start painting this week. According to the builder the painter will call us for our colour selections. I'm still tossing up which white for my trims and doors. Re: Custom build in Dubbo, NSW 43Jul 03, 2015 7:14 pm Suppose to have handover today but the bank has held us up till Monday now. Couldn't be happier with the builder with very few issues and most of them solved immediately. NBN contractor wrecked a brick today, but it should get replaced next week. Driveway and fencing/gates will be completed next week and then the fun begins! Lovely colours. So assumed you are on by now? Re: Custom build in Dubbo, NSW 48Apr 27, 2016 9:02 pm Oh wow! It's been awhile since I've been on homeone. A quick update! We're getting there, but it's taking longer than expected. Back yard has irrigation, 330 sq m turf (my husband is an agronomist by trade so he likes his lawn), lawn edging laid and cypress chips (40 cubic meters) where the gardens will go, but very little plants. All DYI as my husband is the last of the 'big spenders'. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Also, we coated the garage floor with epoxy, flakes & polyurethane top coat. Not 100% happy with our flake distribution, but we saved a tonne of money DYI. Husband spent a whole day cleaning and etching the weekend prior, then we spent ANZAC weekend applying the coatings (it took a couple hours every day). Should be able to park my car on it this weekend. It's glossy, but the flakes give it a slight slip resistance in case it gets wet. We also did the 9m X 7m shed several months ago, but I'm embarrassed to show pics as it hasn't been organised yet and there's junk everywhere. Re: Custom build in Dubbo, NSW 49May 05, 2016 10:38 pm Well done, Lynne I'm beginning to think moving into a new house is like getting married. You spend so much time preparing for the wedding you don't really think about being AT the wedding. You also don't realise how much hard work comes after the wedding I'm sure you'll be able to work your magic on the garden when you have the time/energy/cash!
