Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes - Noosa 29 (Modified) - Contract 61Apr 21, 2015 10:31 am Haven't had any trouble with covenants yet. Our plans were submitted a few weeks ago and colours only yesterday. The requirements are quite strict but hopefully helps maintain the value of the area. I'm not too worried about the timeframes for landscaping completion being enforced - what can they do?[/quote] I thought some of the covenants were a little weird, like the colour of the garage door, i.e. lighter than the house. It is funny that some of the display homes have darker doors etc. The landscaping could be a pain on the corner block, esp the stepped fence stuff. Looking at our block and plan, we're going to put a fence on our secondary boundary for obvious reasons, but every 12m you need a step, which I can only think it has to look like this... ___________|---------|___________________________|--------| --------------| plantz |------------------------------------| plantz |----------------- Hopefully that comes out but I didn't find any examples in the current stages of the estate with landscaping that would highlight that has been done thus far... I'm all for consistency however, certainly adds value to the estate etc. Edit: Looks like spaces are removed on the top line.. Edited Coral Homes - Noosa 29 (Modified) - Contract 62Apr 21, 2015 10:36 am Colour and tile appointments complete! We've gone big, bold and warm - hopefully it turns out OK. Had to make an emergency trip to Beaumonts on Saturday because we changed our minds, but I'm relieved to have it all finalised now.

Hopefully it's not too overpowering throughout the whole house. Edited We are thinking about retaining all the way along the secondary street boundary (house pad is raised) and having a garden bed on the outside of the fence all the way along. Like this: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We have 3.7m between fascia and boundary, so plenty of room for a 500mm garden bed on the outside of the fence. Also helps with street appeal and does away with the step-in. Would love to do a block rendered fence but it's a bit pricey. We'll likely do stackstone retaining and stained timber fencing with native plants in the garden bed. Re: Coral Homes - Noosa 29 (Modified) - Selections 68Apr 21, 2015 8:43 pm Nice choices Thanks for posting that pic of the retaining wall. We're hoping to do something similar with ours, but were thinking of stones/gravel and potted plants. Something that won't die and will require next to no maintenance because we are NOT gardeners! We are currently building with Coral as well and by the sounds and looks of things we may even be in the same estate/ lot release. As far as we've seen there isn't anyone on our street that are building with Coral so it would be nice to compare apples with apples so to speak Builder: Coral Homes Home Design: Avoca 26 Location: Brisbane Northern Suburbs Re: Coral Homes - Noosa 29 (Modified) - Selections 71Apr 22, 2015 10:24 am s_mack Great colours manderinne! I like to think of myself as a patient man but there were time that I had almost pulled the plug on the whole thing and going back to our original build option with plantation. But in the end everything SLOWLY worked out and we have just paid the invoice on our fixtures stage.. What really ground my gears was the whole time we were promised a access key to the job site during the build and they said they offer this for all their clients as a standard but when it came down to it on the day of job start they had me meet the SS onsite and sign up some paperwork and dropped it on us they they are no longer offering the construction keys not sure if this was just a dirty trick they use to get us to lock in with job start. From what others have said, it seems like Coral put a stop to construction keys at the end of last year. Kinda sucks but I think it was an OHS concern. Have you got a build thread?
