Saved about $300 with the sale Beacon had a couple of months ago, which in the scheme of things wasn't much between the cost of supplying our own lights and the additional wiring with Clipsal, we've spent an absolute bomb. Lucky we're not planning to do this again any time soon Re: Coral Homes - Noosa 29 (Modified) - Site Scrape 142Jun 07, 2015 7:23 pm Ahh us too! Elec has been a huge expense on our build. Coral Homes - Noosa 29 (Modified) - Site Scrape 143Jun 07, 2015 8:00 pm Retaining wall day 1: aborted due to the unforeseen layer of solid clay beneath the soil. You can see the height of the wall (800mm) with the string line. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We added water to soften it up which gave us some lovely mud holes. These need to be around 800mm deep but most only got down to 300-400 mm due to the clay. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So we roped it off and called it a day. Will be back on deck with a heavy duty auger tomorrow. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Riveting stuff isn't it! Haha. Gotta get in their and get it done before our start in July. Coral Homes - Noosa 29 (Modified) - Retaining Wall 148Jun 11, 2015 9:32 am Cheers browndog. It's not the most exciting thing in the world but like you said, it's the first thing to happen on the block. After 9 months of nothing we finally have something! 4 days of labour and $4,000 of materials later, we've built ourselves a pretty fine looking wall. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ It's 22m long and 800mm high, made from concrete sleepers and footings, complete with geotech fabric, ag pipe and gravel for good drainage. We'll back fill to the top with garden soil once our neighbour is finished his build. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ All up the wall will cost us just over $2000 once the neighbour pays his share. We are stoked with how nice it looks and it should last forever. Yep, we have piering. I'm guessing it will be done next week with slab pour booked for the following Monday. Will be good to pace our build against yours since we're on a similar schedule. Re: Coral Homes - Noosa 29 (Modified) - Retaining Wall 153Jun 11, 2015 10:00 am Yeh we have people on our block this morning. Digging so in assuming the plumbers and whoever does the piering I'll head out there after work to see what was done. They told us our slab would be next week but we will wait and see what is done today and tomorrow. Elise+Tim, we have some pink pegs marking the outline of the slab! Pretty cool to see. It looks huge... Re: Coral Homes - Noosa 29 (Modified) - Retaining Wall 160Jun 15, 2015 4:51 pm Nope not us. Great news today! The bank have sorted out the problems with both title transfer and mortgage. Even though they have finally fixed their errors, I lodged a formal complaint with NAB today. Don't know if it will have any effect but I feel well justified in doing so. We also received updated construction plans, but the main bathroom elevation was wrong floor plan is perfect though and we're still on track for Monday's slab due date.
