Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes - Noosa 29 (Modified) - Start Date 121Jun 01, 2015 8:54 pm Schedule for the next month: 4th: meet SS on site 5th: site cut 7th-10th: site handed back to us to build retaining wall 11th: slab prep 22nd: slab pour 26th: frame We will be up in Cairns on the 20th-21st and 25th-28th, so looks like we won't miss too much. Have to say how impressed we are with our SS, he has been in constant contact with advice and info without us having to chase him up. Makes a nice change! Re: Coral Homes - Noosa 29 (Modified) - Start Date 122Jun 01, 2015 10:33 pm Hi Maderinne, Small world, but I'm a piece of dirt up the street (Lot 538) I'm also building with Coral homes, a Noosa 23 MK 2 with a few slight adjustments. I've been given an estimated start date of the 11th of June, so not too far behind your build. I'm waiting for my cut and fill, then deal with the predicament of retaining walls.... It's an exciting time ahead, and I'm sure I'll see you both around Re: Coral Homes - Noosa 29 (Modified) - Start Date 123Jun 02, 2015 8:41 am Noosa23mk2 Hi Maderinne, Small world, but I'm a piece of dirt up the street (Lot 538) I'm also building with Coral homes, a Noosa 23 MK 2 with a few slight adjustments. Retaining walls are super fun aren't they? Haha we've got a big job ahead of us to get them up next week. It'll be all hands on deck. Yes, I'm sure we'll see you around feel free to PM me for anything or even just to say hi. I'm excited to see our builds progress together. Re: Coral Homes - Noosa 29 (Modified) - Start Date 124Jun 02, 2015 9:05 am That's a great timeline. A frame by the end of the month Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: Coral Homes - Noosa 29 (Modified) - Start Date 125Jun 02, 2015 9:40 am We will be following your tail with our start date for this Friday. We don't need retaining walls though so hopefully we catch up and can rely on each other for what is next. We got an email from ss this morning stating he will meet us at the block on Friday but will call with a time shortly. I've not really been told ANYTHING I haven't specifically asked.. and even then it's a vague timeline not actual booked in dates. I was told the bricks were to go on 2 weeks ago, the Brickie called me the Friday of that week and I said "are you starting today and he said no next week...".... I get things like "a painter towards the end of the second week from now".... If I knew when things were (and weren't) happening I would stalk the block less.. as it is I'm hanging out for any action on site each day and drive by 3-4 times a day lol. Re: Coral Homes - Noosa 29 (Modified) - Start Date 127Jun 02, 2015 4:25 pm Haha I must clarify my SS is great, just not great on understanding I want info lol. Re: Coral Homes - Noosa 29 (Modified) - Start Date 128Jun 02, 2015 5:43 pm Wow that would be hard, I'm hoping we get Info! That trench in the third photo is about where our retaining wall will go in next week. Nice to see the block first thing in the morning, our living rooms face north east and will get all that morning sun. Still haven't received amended construction plans, even our SS doesn't have them yet. It's only internal stuff that needs fixing so slab prep can continue in the meantime. Oh and the bank hasn't finalised title transfer or construction mortgage yet either. But we have progress regardless Re: Coral Homes - Noosa 29 (Modified) - Start Date 132Jun 04, 2015 8:25 am Hooray for site start! I noticed recently that they changed their web site with all stages sold out which took a little while. I'll take a drive up there in a couple of weeks to see if much progress has been made on getting to our block and check yours out while I'm there Re: Coral Homes - Noosa 29 (Modified) - Start Date 134Jun 04, 2015 8:33 am Yay! Yay for being organised. Did you get a good deal doing a whole house with Beacon? We are supplying all bar the fan lights for 4 bedrooms and the study... I still have to get the 2 fan lights for the living areas. Only BEACON sell the ones we are after. They were on sale weeks ago, but I felt like I was jumping the gun, and then Beacon's next "deal" on lights excludes fan lights... so waiting to see what special they start tomorrow after the current one finishes today.. other wise I'll have to pay full price as I think the sparkies are due back for install in about 2-3 weeks, so need to get them asap. Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 14199 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4377 Is there a building permit? RU in Victoria? What is the value of the building contract? 1 6884 |
