To all the potential Masterton homeowners,
I thought I'd just share my current experience with dealing with Masterton.
Our build started in January 2016 and finished February 2017. Since having the keys, we have been unable to live in the home as we need an Occupancy Certificate. We're unable to obtain this until we have a driveway and landscaping according to our Council.
We organised for the driveway but, first had to get the driveway levels from Council which I did. I emailed them to my SS on the 20th of March, as it stated that we needed to have the kerbside drainage pipe replaced with a galvanised one.
So, since late March I have been waiting for a plumber to come and replace the pipe & each time I call the SS he tells me that he'll contact the plumber & never being able to provide me with a date or time or even the plumbers contact details.
To make matters worse we only recently noticed that our rain water tank is empty which we thought is weird since weeks back we had alot of heavy rain. We brought this to our SS who actually came onsite and inspected it and advised us that there could be a broken pipe underground. And he advised that this could possibly affect the pouring of the driveway as Masterton may need to dig to check the piping for any leakages.
I have had to postpone the driveway each day as my SS can't seem to provide me with an exact date of when a plumber will come to inspect as well as replace the kerbside piping.
So, this is where we are upto, I can't get the OC until I get a driveway, I can't get a driveway til the plumber comes to replace the pipe as well as inspect the rain water pipes.
Thanks to you all who took the time to read my update and I hope your dream homes are exactly what you wanted and dreamed about.
