Re: Building a Sekisui house Now Holmesville 584Jul 08, 2016 10:22 pm I know this bad weather is seriously disastrous for building. Next week looks much better, however I must say that I am happy with the quality of work of the bricks so far. Hopefully they keep it up. sekisui build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75060&p=1573965#p1573965 Building a sekisui house in Holmesville NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75060 Re: Building a Sekisui house Now Holmesville 585Jul 10, 2016 12:20 am Went out to the block again today as weather was much better and found that the brick fairy had been today. Was also able to get some decent photos of our roof trusses . With the bricking not sure if its something to worry but on the back of the wall to the garage you can see in some places there is mortar missing. Haven't got specific photos but if you zoom in you can see it easily enough. Today I also went to beacon and rovert lighting because I thought it was time I started tackling fans, downlight and everything in between. What I have learnt is that I have alot to learn. Really don't know which down lights to use and weather to have warm white or cool white. With our grey walls and timber look tiles. Peoples thoughts and experience and photos if you have them would be amazing. sekisui build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75060&p=1573965#p1573965 Building a sekisui house in Holmesville NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75060 Re: Building a Sekisui house Now Holmesville 586Jul 10, 2016 12:21 am Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And found this pendant trying to decide if I like it or not. The house looks excellent! Are you happy with the layout as you walk through it? Yes cat we are really happy with it. A little concerned we should have made some areas like the main room and lounge a little bigger. But over all we are really happy. Thanks for the lighting advice. sekisui build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75060&p=1573965#p1573965 Building a sekisui house in Holmesville NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75060 Re: Building a Sekisui house Now Holmesville 589Jul 11, 2016 11:16 am Yay for brickies!!!! Im sure there is a colour inbetween warm and cool white called daylight or natural - somthing like that, I think we will end up with that _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Building a Sekisui house Now Holmesville 590Jul 11, 2016 4:50 pm Spoke to SS today he happened to call in while we where at the site this afternoon. Keep it moving. Forgot to ask are you happy with your bricks choice? At the moment I am really happy I had been second guessing myself about going for a darker brick, however seeing at the moment I am really happy. However the true test will be once roof and garage door are on. At the moment feel like I am only getting 1/4 of the picture. sekisui build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75060&p=1573965#p1573965 Building a sekisui house in Holmesville NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75060 Re: Building a Sekisui house Now Holmesville 593Jul 11, 2016 9:11 pm Loves your green frames, seem like you have a good SS....charging ahead with your house build. Just as long as the crazy weather stay away. Where do you plan to hang that pendant?... over the kitchen island bench? or over the dinning table? either way I do like your pendant. How many pendants will you be having over the kitchen island bench. Sorry mim too many questions. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81624 Re: Building a Sekisui house Now Holmesville 594Jul 11, 2016 9:20 pm shazaw Loves your green frames, seem like you have a good SS....charging ahead with your house build. Hubby doesn't like my wood pendant so its back to drawing board. I will be happy to see end of this wild weather. sekisui build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75060&p=1573965#p1573965 Building a sekisui house in Holmesville NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75060 Re: Building a Sekisui house Now Holmesville 595Jul 12, 2016 5:19 am Powering along...great to see ongoing progress and that your SS seems focused and committed in getting it all done. Don't worry too much about the missing mortars, they will fix it. Re: Building a Sekisui house Now Holmesville 596Jul 13, 2016 3:58 pm So despite the wild winds brickies still on site, really liking the dedication. But as SS said they are paid by the job not the hour so it is in there best interest to work whenever they can. Today I also went and had the appointment with the electrian and upgraded what we wanted. I am waiting for the quote which will include almost 2500 in supply and install of downlights. Was able to see the difference between cool white and day light. Really like day light gives true colour and have used it throughout with dimmer switches. Hoping the rest of the stuff isn't too scary. Some progress photos from today's visit. I prefer the daylight coloured lights over the cool white as well. Feels warmer and theoretically it's better for your eyes. We upgraded most of our lights to downlights instead of oysters but I don't know if we got dimmers, might have to check on that because dimmers could come in handy. Re: Building a Sekisui house Now Holmesville 600Jul 13, 2016 4:44 pm Great progress!
