I have been on this forum for a few months now trolling the various threads, however I thought it was time that i start my own thread.
Our progress so far we have selelcted a reasonably flat block of land in stage 2 of apple tree grove at west wallsend, there is approximatly 2m of fall from front to back. We have paid our intial holding deposit back in September however still waiting to exchange contracts as we are being held up with a change in title to include additiional land space at the rear orignally being set aside for a road reserve at the rear of the block. Unsure how long this process will take but hoping it shouldn't be too much longer.
As for our process in choosing a house, we researched and visited many display homes and just as many builders, after months of research we have decided on a sekisui design for a number of reasons one the floor plan, we needed a floor plan that allowed the main bedroom was away from all living areas as I work regular night shift and need the quiet away from the our 3 children. We also like that the bedrrooms are clustered together and separate from our open plan living areas.
The design is known as the lakewood 1530 which we have altered to increase the size of the 3rd and 4th bedroom and kids retreat and we have added a split in the house to accomodate the slope of our block, I will attempt to attach images of our plan and our block if i can.
So after more then 12 Months waiting for our land at west Wallsend to register, we decided that it was time to look for another block, we found a 1264m2 block in Holmesville, it is a battle axe block, which we don't mind as it will allow us to build the home we want.
this is our unaltered plan.
