Browse Forums Building A New House Re: First house with Coral Homes in Regents Park! 9Dec 27, 2014 8:31 am Welcome Nick, good luck with the build and look forward to seeing all the pics. Check out our build - Daydream 30 at Logan Village - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73302 Re: First house with Coral Homes in Regents Park! 10Dec 27, 2014 10:09 am Yeah I originally wanted to build the noosa 23 but budget moved me back to the 20. It's my first house so I'm happy with the size and layout. Black kitchen will look great, very dramatic. At least you can have night sky ceasarstone from the standard range and there are hundreds of cabinet colour options! The splashback will be the big ticket item I think.. I haven't changed anything at this stage, I really like the layout of the house, I have the elegance package and chose the air conditioning option, I've added timber laminate and silver range carpet, added niches to the showers, under mount sink, waterfall edges to Island bench, extra gas point to alfresco, extra TV point to lounge that's all I can think of at the moment ️ I'll be excited when I can choose my colours etc. When will you start building? Re: First house with Coral Homes in Regents Park! 11Dec 27, 2014 10:59 am jwbear Welcome Nick, good luck with the build and look forward to seeing all the pics. Thank you! I'll be posting lots of pictures here along the way! ASH Jordan Springs Yeah I originally wanted to build the noosa 23 but budget moved me back to the 20. Yeah same thing with me! I originally wanted the noosa 23 and I then thought that I didn't need the fourth bedroom near the entrance. I was going to change that to a study area anyway, so instead of doing that we changed our minds and downsized as well. The problem is that with our building covenant, we had to have at least 190m2 of living area and we are just not quite there yet with the noosa 20. So, we might be expanding the living area sideways making it wider a little bit. I also got the indulgence package! I'm hoping that it would be okay and that we don't have to upgrade too much! I just saw your thread and saw that you visited the color centre? You can go there without making an appointment and just to check things out? Does it tell you which ones are upgraded items and how much they are? Also, how much is your waterfall edge for your kitchen? Do we tell the sales consultant about wanting to have extra tv points or is that done in the electrical appointment? Also what about data points and things like that? Sorry for all the questions! Not sure yet when we are building! But I'm hoping around February because we ordered the soil test to be done on the 7th of January, we then will finalize our drawings and get final tender and between all that I'll be hunting down the bank to give us the unconditional approval so we can go ahead! Re: First house with Coral Homes in Regents Park! 12Dec 27, 2014 4:07 pm Yeah the 20 is around 187 total or something.. The colour centre is just the garage of the 3rd house in the Gledswood hills display, it's open every weekend or you can call ahead to see if it's free mid week, my cl went through it with me and showed me what was standard.. The ceasarstone has stickers to say what ones are an upgrade but I haven't sat with the colour consultant yet.. Waterfall edge was about $1500 for both sides Undermount sink about $600 I told my consultant and it was put in my tender but I'm sure you could do it at the electrical.. From memory it was around $90. I didn't ask about data but it goes in your tender.. That's fantastic! How exciting! I'm hoping to get the ball rolling as soon as I can after my registration.. I've heard there's new designs coming out in the new year... I hope I don't see something I like better! I thought you could go in and choose everything first and then when it's the actual time to choose everything, then you already know what to pick and stuff. Oh! The waterfall edges aren't too bad! Damn it! I shouldn't have asked you! Haha. Hopefully you'll get everything rolling smoothly and quickly too! I wonder how much are bi fold doors for the alfresco..you wouldn't happen to know would you? Not sure about the colour centre because ours is different up here in Qld, we had to make an appointment but the tv and data points we did at the electrical. Hope you get to start in Feb but be warned the paperwork stuff can take a long time, I know ours seemed to be never ending, I think we started building about 3 months after our soil tests but we also had to wait for the land to be registered so hope yours doesn't take that long. Check out our build - Daydream 30 at Logan Village - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73302 Re: First house with Coral Homes in Regents Park! 15Dec 28, 2014 11:15 am Yeah you can just go in and have a look at the colour centre when you're there, just ask for the key and if no one is using it they will just give it to you.. Lots of options in there.. All the fittings, carpet, laminate, ceasarstone, roof tiles, standard bricks etc ️ definitely would recommend having a look before your appointment.. I'm making a scrap book at the moment of things I like to take with me when I have my colour appointment eventually.. No sorry I didn't ask about the bifold doors, I would love them but I don't see it being in my budget, ask them to put it in your tender then you can take it out if needed.. Will be interesting to see if our tenders are fairly comparable.. You will need to add some extras probably, like the slab to the alfresco etc Re: First house with Coral Homes in Regents Park! 16Dec 28, 2014 7:11 pm ASH Jordan Springs Yeah you can just go in and have a look at the colour centre when you're there, just ask for the key and if no one is using it they will just give it to you.. Just trying to gauge the prices for the house at the moment. It's a bit hard isn't it? haha. Can't wait either for the bank's approval, just so i know how much money I've got. haha. How are you going now? What stage are you at? Just waiting for the land to register? Cheers, Nick Re: First house with Coral Homes in Regents Park! 17Dec 28, 2014 7:15 pm Yeah it's very difficult, every builder is different and everyone's prices even within the same builder seem to differ.. Yeah I'm waiting for my registration, I've accepted my tender, next step is any plan variations then the electrical and colour appointments then I sign off on my final contract I guess from there we go straight to council after the registration all a big waiting game Re: First house with Coral Homes in Regents Park! 18Dec 28, 2014 7:29 pm ASH Jordan Springs Yeah it's very difficult, every builder is different and everyone's prices even within the same builder seem to differ.. I'm still preliminary and everyday I'm getting new ideas and I've now got this HUGE list of variations that I want to do! It's getting bigger and bigger...haha! Hopefully everything goes faster after the new year! People seem to get excited when they see slab and the infamous portaloo! haha. Looking forward to seeing your selections and plans when the time comes especially the all black kitchen! Oh okay! I thought I'd have to do it through Coral! Yeah I don't think I can wait that long! Can't wait to move out and into a new home. Hopefully everything goes well this coming new year and we can get things started finally! manderinne Hey Nick, welcome! Loving all these Coral Noosa builds in progress. I'm building a Noosa 25 in Brisbane. Looking forward to seeing your selections and plans when the time comes especially the all black kitchen! Thanks manderinne! Oh the noose 25 is nice! I wanted the ensuite from noosa 23mkII but thought it wasn't worth it. I've been reading up on some kitchen threads and they've all said that a black bench top is a hard one to keep clean. Hopefully I'm not making a wrong decision with this one, but I do really want an all black kitchen tho haha. How're you going with your build? Hopefully everything is going smoothly! Cheers, Nick Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13781 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4357 |
