Not looking to engage in a price war as such, it's more along the lines of the 'always get 3 quotes' rule but in this case I don't quite see the point because the designs are different even though one stands out, it's not an apples for apples comparison.
I've been through the options and pricing lists of all the major builders and they're already surprisingly similar once you add in what you want. So I'm wondering if there even is a point to go and get 3 tenders?
@CrazyK - already got 37k down for site costs like upgraded slab, hydraulics, tight access and scaffolding with mesh, installing a power pole to connect to overhead wiring on the street and all this other misc stuff. It seemed reasonable. Sales staff from W was kind enough to spend an hour doing a 'mini-tender' without obligation or pressure. Can't say the same about the sales staff from M who have been very pushy every time.
I'm about to embark on a 2 year+ project that's gonna cost me north of half a mill, hence all the uncertainty and indecisiveness cos I want to 'get it right'. Gotta say I love this forum and people like you guys on it.
