Hi everyone,
We are in the initial stage of building a house. I am very confused about all the cabling/wiring and stuff. The builder will provide one DPO per room and any addition will be extra. They also provide a light per room. If we want to do LED downlights (buy them ourselves rather than going through them), do we just tell them where we want the wiring go? Do they charge extra for pulling the wire where it should be for the LED downlight? or I better off to do all of these after handover since we aren't buying those LED downlights from them.
What about data and TV points? Do they provide as a standard? We are thinking about the "smart wiring". Is it more like a after handover job?
My understanding is that smart wiring is sort of a fancy name for data cabling. Basically, data/tv point for each room of the house and all the cables connect to a central box. Where is this box located? Garage? We have a garage at the back of the house. It seems like NBN cable is at the front street.
NBN co will provide a NBN connection box (not sure how much). Does this box have to be next to this smart wiring central box?
Sorry about so many questions. I am just very confused and the builder just told us to think about where we want to put the conduits and I've no idea.......
