Picked up keys yesterday, such a relief!
But as predicted, still plenty not done that was meant to be. A few of the things he had fixed by the time I went and got the keys from head office and returned which was good (one of the vanity plumbing wasn't connected still, painting of manhole cover, weather strip on front door to stop rattles).
Still need flyscreens but they have been promised for Monday. Same with the retaining wall out the front of the block on the garage side as my block sits slightly higher than next doors, so the downpipe also needs to be raised as it's too low at the moment.
We commenced painting! Oh how I will never do it again. Maybe it wouldn't have been so bad if I didn't get hit hard with a flu on Thursday night, since I was hurting all afternoon/evening and the fumes from the oil-based sealer were not doing my headache and nasal congestion any favors at all. I sealed from about 4-8 then a couple of others stayed until around 10. We kick it off again at 8 this morning and will hopefully get the first lot of color on this evening (this sealer takes 16-24 hours before we can paint on it )
But, all in all, I have keys, I have a house, I'm very happy =]
