Browse Forums Building A New House Re: First home build with HGWA in Mandurah 21Feb 16, 2015 11:21 pm Ahhh, thanks for the info Marcia, I'd be happy to cough up the $500 for what I have in mind. If you look at my plan, i want to change the window in my living room to 2 narrow verticle ones, with the brick wall between them, so we could make a feature out of it and hang a T.V there. That way we can watch it as we cook/eat, what do you think? Re: First home build with HGWA in Mandurah 22Feb 16, 2015 11:34 pm Im hope im not being rude by coming into the conversation . But check on line at redink displays I think they have a home with what your looking at doing . Iv also done it but with two big sliding doors on either side . Re: First home build with HGWA in Mandurah 23Feb 16, 2015 11:40 pm More than welcome Melsie! How do you like your wall? I'm just thinking it would enhance the space a little, so if we were standing at the kitchen bench, you would be looking directly at it. I think it would look great with the 'rock' type tiling Re: First home build with HGWA in Mandurah 27Mar 01, 2015 12:17 am Hi Scott_Michelle. Your plan looks great. Windows will be nice and light up the space, only have to think of how you'll be furnishing the room though. Definitely think you should get back in touch with HGWA and relook at the tile situation before you get to prestart. You'll only regret not looking if you don't. I don't understand why builders don't have a little booklet with a breakdown of affiliated suppliers and selections that they give to you at the start so you can make informed decisions. Seems that they'd have to make a lot less changes and answer a lot less questions if they were a little more forthcoming in the beginning. Posting to follow. Re: First home build with HGWA in Mandurah 28Mar 03, 2015 7:02 pm Thanks for the info guys, we have settled on the tile thing so all good there, good to see another Procida build happening Paul1978, race ya! Haha We have pre start on the 27th so more time to put some cash together YEEEWWW! Re: First home build with HGWA in Mandurah 29Mar 25, 2015 12:26 am Good luck for pre start, let us all know how it went and what your selections were. Re: First home build with HGWA in Mandurah 30Mar 25, 2015 9:35 am Good luck with your build! I would definitely try and change to the two windows in the living area, I have one similar to your original in my living room and it really is just impractical and wasted space! There's certainly no point in having TV's or furniture sitting in front of it blocking the view! IMO blank walls give you more options! Another option is a highlight (I think they're called) window. Wouldn't require as much change to the plan if they baulk wanting to do it. Again my current home has one open plan living/dining/games area but only one TV can be in the vast space! My theatre backs onto this area too (through doors) and we still can hear both TV's! Re: First home build with HGWA in Mandurah 31Mar 25, 2015 10:33 am Good luck with Pre start. We had ours the other day. Who would have thought choosing stuff was so exhausting. They were very helpful and the lady (been told i can not use names) picked up on some things i had missed.
