Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 18, 2015 10:30 am Hi - first time building with Rawson, on our own property. When getting my own quotes for the KDR, what should I be looking for in a demolition company? Are there does & don'ts that I need to specify for the job? Thanks in advance. Re: Demolition quotes - what to look for 2Jul 18, 2015 9:40 pm Someone that comes out to give a thorough quote, walking you through everything they will and won't do.... Also get everything in writing! We had a few that quoted just using google images and street view- quote came in cheaper but didn't cover off everything we wanted cleared from the site. He came out and quoted me properly. Also be wear of what council wants, Penrith Council asked what materials are being removed (Concrete, fibro etc)and exactly where they are being dumped (Concrete recyclers, approved asbestos tips). Re: Demolition quotes - what to look for 7Jul 20, 2015 11:18 am Thanks for the info. I have had 7 quotes come back & the 2 cheapest have not come out to visit the site - just looked at google maps for reference - which is why I'm sceptical about using them. The highest priced one is the one organised by Rawson & is over $5K more than the other 4. I will look at the ones you have referenced (Anesti & DJ Demoliton) today. I've heard horror stories of demotion taking a while to do - was the demolition done quickly, as we don't want it to drag on for too long. Re: Demolition quotes - what to look for 8Jul 20, 2015 2:24 pm We used Daniels' Demolition based in SW Sydney. He was fantastic and the house was gone and removed in a couple of days. The fencing took a while longer to go, but it didn't hold us up.
