Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 13, 2014 5:44 pm We have been searching for furniture and electrical items for our new house in last weeks. We have to buy TV , fridge ,bed frame , lounges/sofa , dinning table , ... (in short every thing for the house ) most of shops don't give any further discounts if we go for interest free so is it true prices will go down more in January? What are your experiences? Re: Is it true that prices go down more in January? 2Dec 13, 2014 6:47 pm With our dollar going down, all those imported items will be going up at some point. As for best prices, go at the end of the month, a lot of these guys get commission, so if they have had a rough month they will be more likely to do a better deal. Be prepared to pay their price but bargain them to throw things in. Re: Is it true that prices go down more in January? 4Dec 13, 2014 6:56 pm Christmas rush and Boxing Day I don't think so. You're better off waiting till the end of Jan or early new year. If the shops didn't have a good sale over the break they may want to do better deals. I've generally found end of financial year is a good time. That's just my experience anyway.
