Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 12, 2014 9:13 pm Hi, Currently looking to build and went to Homeworld last week for some price lists. We're really just looking for a roof over our heads - nothing fancy. beechwood's base prices, especially for the "generation series" seems incredibly cheap compared to other builders, even when I factor in site costs and other items not included in BW's base price. Am I missing something here or are they genuinely cheaper? Thanks guys. Re: Why is Beechwood so cheap? (Sydney) 2Dec 12, 2014 10:07 pm Even though you want just a roof over your head you don't want it to fall in on you after 12 years. This unfortunately is what is happening in our home, thank goodness we are only renting it. A builder has said that it will be cheaper to demolish & rebuild then fix the decay of the house. Just found out today that we have water running in one of the walls & it's suggested that the whole inside of the wall could be black mold. On the count down to move in 4 weeks! This house was a cheap build that was built in a hurry, all the houses in my area are the same decayed state. It's better to look for quality than cheap, if they are building the house very quickly (& these cheap builders are!) you aren't getting quality. Good luck! Re: Why is Beechwood so cheap? Hi Elouise123, we are building with Beechwood, We found their price to be on par with many other builders once you factor in upgrades. I think Beechwood offer a cheaper base price cause they don't add in any extras at all, it's all standard. There is a Beechwood display in Shellcove where they have used only standard inclusions to show buyers the end result, it's quite nice. You should head over the Beechwood forum and check out my blog, feel free to ask any questions or prices on upgrades Lexia Slim Twist with Beechwood Homes http://houseoflexia.blogspot.com.au/ https://www.instagram.com/natlyn7/ 1. Good to move away from steel anyway for all your reasons, but it's also thermally poor. 16 17856 Hi All, I just wanted to close this topic out with an update.
