I have come here because I'm now concerned about the condition of my slab. No other slabs I have looked at have this issue. The edge where the timber frame will sit is crumbling in so many areas, can anyone tell me if this is a problem? My builder says they have inspected the slab and everything is fine but I don't have any experience in this area so feel rather vulnerable to just take their word for it I can't see where to post photos though! I'm not sure about your question, but I can see why you'd be worried! I have heard that you can pay an independent building inspector to come and look at your property (at different stages of the build). Have a look in the yellow pages & good luck!
