I'm so glad to hear it isn't anything to worry about Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 142Jul 01, 2015 12:17 am trixee PPA was the very first form I signed with the builder. Thanks Trixee Fantastic Four I'm probably not the best person to ask as my build has been a bit crazy? We actually bought another 2 blocks before this one and both fell through. The seller decided not to sell one block just a few days from settlement and the other was going to be too hard to build upon because of rock and the clay dirt so we ended up buying our current property. In between the 2nd and 3rd property plans I decided that I wanted to change the windows so I was able to redo some of my design which took up more time after signing the contracts. I'm pretty sure contracts are done really quickly though normally? I think it was only a matter of days with our current property? Hope the house plans are coming along nicely for you! MalSannie JMCL Well Trixee and Malsannie you were right, nothing to worry about as it is getting 2 coats of grey float over it apparently? I'm so glad to hear it isn't anything to worry about So am I! I was worried it was a poor job but apparently it's normal to do it that way???? Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 143Jul 01, 2015 12:41 am Well I have been doing a bit of shopping in the EOFY sales and I bought a lounge It will take about 10 weeks to order in Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ These were the 3 final colours that I liked and I ended up going with the darker grey colour on the left To say I love it is an understatement! If I don't like it in the family room then I can easily move it to the cinema room and it will fit perfectly in there. I'm hoping it suits the family room though! The colours aren't exact and are a little more brown in this picture then they actually are. They are pure greys in real life Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I also ordered my bed I love, love, love it! We are going for a Scandinavian theme and I've been having trouble finding a bed I like? Not sure if we will have paid this off before we move on but it should be paid off within a month or 2 of moving in. Our current bed is going in the spare room so we'll just use that until we get this one. It will have a white end instead of a blue end because I thought it would be easier to mix colour schemes with white Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 144Jul 01, 2015 12:47 am I also have started buying prints for my new place too I bought this marble print for my laundry - it's gorgeous! Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 145Jul 01, 2015 12:52 am I also have a question about curtains - does anyone know if you can put roller blinds AND sheers on a sliding door? You can in a regular window as you put the blind in the window recess and the sheer curtains above the window but I'm not sure that would work in a doorway? I was hoping to do that for both the sliding doors in the games room and family room? Not sure how to do that though? Any ideas????? Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 146Jul 01, 2015 12:52 am Wow great going on those purchases! I bought some toilet brushes today and thought I was doing well! Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 147Jul 01, 2015 12:54 am trixee Wow great going on those purchases! I bought some toilet brushes today and thought I was doing well! Haha! This is quite sad on my behalf but I've been looking online for toilet brushes and can't find anything! I definitely have way too much time on my hands Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 148Jul 01, 2015 1:03 am I ended up buying a stupidly expensive one - but it was on sale! Then I went to Reece website and found it wasn't that expensive compared to their stuff. But def more than the $15 ones from IKEA! The curtain stuff is doing my head in at the moment too, hubby keeps asking me questions that I don't know the answers to, I'm too busy buying light fittings at the moment! Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 149Jul 01, 2015 1:08 am Really Trixee, I've got most of the light fittings sorted but the curtains are doing my head in And I'm scared of getting quotes because most of my friends have spent between 12-15k on curtains and I haven't budgeted for anything near that amount? I know what I want but it will require some DIY in most rooms? I really need to sort my sliding doors out??? I checked Adairs online for toilet brushes and a couple of other shops but nothing stood out? Maybe I need to check out IKEA Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 150Jul 01, 2015 1:15 am I know what you mean about being scared of getting quotes, I feel the same way as I know I'll want the most expensive thing available! I'm hoping to diy too so hoping that will cut down some of the cost. Tbh I don't know anyone who's put roller blinds on a sliding door. Vertical blinds yes though, i think my in laws have some. Why do you want to do both? A double curtain rail might be easier to work with. Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 151Jul 01, 2015 2:26 am Yes I was also thinking about a double curtain rail??? With the family room sliding door you can see straight in to the house from the back street and the other houses as we are higher and I want privacy. The games room isn't so bad but the family room is very public? I hate verticals but thought that is something I might have to do, I hope not? I love sheers and want sheers so we can have semi privacy during the day. These were the type of curtains I wanted to put on the sliding door because I like the simplicity of the rail above the door recess? I definitely can't put a roller blind in the door recess can I???? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I think I might have to start looking at curtains with a double rail so I can have both blockout and sheers on tthe same door recess? Does anyone have any other suggestions? Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 152Jul 01, 2015 9:40 am You could probably squeeze a roller blind in the recess but you'd need to be careful with measurements so it doesn't jut out. If it's privacy you're after, have you considered window tinting? I hope my house all flows together with my choices, I'm looking forward to seeing if they do kellie_87 Oooooh some nice purchases there JMCL! Loving the bed, it's going to look amazing Thanks kellie_87, I love that bed too! I'm soooo glad I finally found one that I love livpal5 Great purchases. Loving the scandi look Thanks livpal5, the scandi look is beautiful hey? I love the colour tones and minimalistic living in scandi style, it suits our family perfectly Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 158Jul 02, 2015 5:29 am Usually the sliding door recess is a bit shallower so you need to check it (we couldn't fit rollers in the recess of our last house) also there was a bolt for the lock that stuck out. So we had to put any rollers on the outside of frame (but then we only had a blind so was okay). I want to put sheers on the sliding doors with a roller blind also. Will have to wait and see when I actually have windows. Am DIYing the sheers - bought material from US was very cheap compared to here......haven't started, keep looking at the roll and imaging getting it all tangled up and the unpicking when I make a mistake ( I hate any unpicking with a vengeance). Love your beds and the grey leathers you had to choose from they were all pretty. Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 159Jul 02, 2015 11:24 pm Thanks bluesteel, I don't think I'm going to be able to have both unfortunately so I might look into tinting even if it won't give out 100% blockout? I will wait until I see it in person though just in case they will fit, fingers crossed! Good idea to buy your fabric from the US, I'm glad you got what you wanted? I hate unpicking too, it's my least fav job of all time Thanks for your kind words about my beds and lounge. They had about 15 different shades of grey in the leather so it was very hard to choose a colour Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 160Jul 02, 2015 11:57 pm The final coat of render has been done on the front Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our cinema room Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We tried to get a close up of the white set but the sun had almost gone down and with the sun setting, it went a yellow colour Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Looking at the dining room and into the larder - looks huge for us Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I'm so excited, it's almost LOCK UP Adam Baines Grad Cert Bldg Surv / Grad Dip Bldg Surv / MSAAPA Accredited Building Professional APB20210035 Builders Lic 183023 Pest Control Lic 84868 Ph 0412202336 PO… 3 46836 Hi All It has been a few weeks since my last update.
