I love all your build threads. After a long deliberation we are building a Coral Capri 25, super excited but have lots and lots of questions! We had our tiles selection a week ago and that was easy as. I have the Clipsal electrical selection this Tuesday, its via the web video conference (it was that or another drive to down to Varsity Lakes, or an appointment in Jan !!) A couple of quick electrical questions for those who have been through and made it up and over the trenches...
I am dreading how much over my $6500 allowance we will go! Cheers 3G Hi 3Gums, We are at the same stage, tiles done yesterday, Clipsal next week. My dad is an electrician so I am bringing him along because I don't want them talking me into things I don't understand, haha! We are building a double so will pay for down lights in open areas downstairs but otherwise we will be installing the battens and having them changed over later. Still, that's a good 25 down lights... Thinking even with the help I have post handover, we will spend at least $5000.. TV points we will get an extra one but otherwise we will stay in the included amounts for power points etc... If you google Clipsal costs hormone and go to google images, it seems a few people have posted pics of their bills which have a breakdown of costs Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10184Dec 13, 2017 3:04 pm SKND10 Hi 3Gums, We are at the same stage, tiles done yesterday, Clipsal next week. I enthusiastically went a bit overboard..... We revised a few things and have got it down to $750 over budget. I was going to go for Owner Supplied LED lights and fans, but in the end it worked out cheaper doing it through Clipsal. Clipsal = $116.30 per LED installed vs. $96.20 Owner Supplied + the cost of the LED. Same-ish for Fans and Exhaust Fans Colour and all the other stuff next week. We got council approval today which was awesome news, took only 2 weeks Cheers Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10185Dec 13, 2017 3:31 pm 3Gums SKND10 Hi 3Gums, We are at the same stage, tiles done yesterday, Clipsal next week. I'll be paying someone to clean before I move in depending how bad it is. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10190Dec 15, 2017 6:34 am H Family How clean have your homes been when you did handover? Will I have to do a full clean before I move in? viewtopic.php?t=88323&f=31&p=1771329#p1771329 you will end up doing a full wipe down and if it's like our house we are still cleaning paint and silicon etc off windows and tiles They 'clean' the house but yeah, like the others, there is still silicone and smeared 'goop' around tiles. The bathroom tiles seem to have water stains that I can't budge, paint spatters. Mind you we are going to get some paint to do touch ups. The PCI stuff that was supposed to have been addressed has really not been done. It's not too bad. We still have landscaping to do so there is a fair amount of sand/dirt/dust coming in too. With our first build we never had any of these issues that everyone seems to have with coral homes. You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14099 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13771 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4343 |
